The Followers of The Apocalypse

They are brilliant altruistic humanitarians who are the only pure good in the Wastes. Unfortunately being good svcks, so all of the endings for them are sad. Does anyone dislike The Followers? 'Cause I can't find a reason to.

Actually, if you side with House, the Followers are pretty much left alone. Only the NCR and Legion endings affect them.

Really? I thought Independent/House had the same outcome for the Followers. I like House a lot, but I can't reconcile the murder of The Brotherhood. I love those guys, flawed as they are. I also quite like NCR, but don't see them as needing more territory.

The Brotherhood are a tribal group with a self appointed air of superiority. Trust me, they're nothing exciting. Lyons Brotherhood are knights. Mojave Brotherhood are dikes. If they were the white knights their egos think they are, I'd feel bad. But trust me, I don't see them as anything more than better dressed raiders..

You mean the Hippies ?
just kidding but they have no chance to be anything major they dont make anything and they keep on giving to the hopeless which will never get better and end up dying and soon they wont be able to give anymore and will eventually dissolve into nothing so im going to look on the bright side they have a safe house and give me free stuff that's about it

It's not that they are knights. It's that they have survived this long and are as skilled and well equipped as they are. I love the deep familial relations between the BOS members. I would love if the Brotherhood would open up a little, allow members to find love outside of Hidden Valley and widen the gene pool. Those [censored]ers are dying slowly because they are so bound to the codex. If they would take a hint from The Followers the way Veronica wants to, they'd be perfect. Ideally, they become a client of the Followers. A protectorate. If they would just give a little then they would be the best faction in the wastes.

EDIT:
@Last Thing You Never See, The hopeless remember those who help them. Bill Ronte and Jacob Hoff are perfect examples of this. Humanitarian Efforts should never be seen as wasting anything.

The Followers don't seem to have an ending with House. Don't know if that's due to a bug, but in any case, I just take that as a sign that their situation is the same as it was where I left it. Which isn't so bad.

the hopeless cant fuel the FoTA with memories and those supplies could go to the NCR troops so at least they would have a purpose in my mind

Hmm... I don't want to kill The BOS! But House may be better for overall stability. Oh well, I guess.

@Last Thing, The NCR had the Follower's aid, remember? Then NCR told them to go [censored] themselves if they wanted to help people. They turned all of the funding into the morally bankrupt OSI and left the Followers in the dust.

I like the Followers in the fact that they seem to really care about people the most. They have the most peaceful outlook and ideals, and thats also their greatest weakness. In the post apocalyptic enviroment, they have very few resources to protect the people and the Followers own ideals.

If you complete Veronica's quest a certain way, you'll see for yourself just what the Brotherhood would do for the wasteland. And you're not gonna' like it, either.

The thing about Mr. House's ending is, you have to appreciate things from the big picture. But with me, I'm a mix of white knight. I see it as House helping humanity on the big picture, and I'm helping it pieces at a time. I take the time to donate to max capacity the meds the Followers need. I save any NCR troop I find. etc.

Mr. House runs Vegas as a business, which for all intents and purposes, it has always been a business. Plus, NCR is over bloated and spread to thin, and the Legion, well, they're savage as they come. But House has no want for expanding. I see it as NCR continues to do it's thing, and Mr. House will rebuild Vegas to Pre-War glory. It's a best of both worlds situation in my book.

Edit: @Last- It wasn't a slide, the Followers denounce NCR because they see NCR as inefficient, the Followers are in it for the people, the NCR is in it for glory and money. They both do the same thing, but for opposite reasons, and that's why they don't get along. It made me glad I'm a House supporter when some NCR dike called Arcade an 'Anarchic Cultist'.

I've beaten the game 4 times now, as every faction. Further, I've done NCR 3 times. I know the outcome. It doesn't seem out of character for The BOS. But riddle me this: Are those roads safer with BOS Laser Rifles on the scene? So what if your Energy Weapons are taken? People can't be trusted. Fiends are a hell of a lot more trouble for NCR with those Laser/Plasma Rifles and RCWs.

Martyr, you sold me on House a few months ago. I like him. He's my number two choice overall. NCR has the happiest endings for everyone (other than some taxation here and some occupation there). House is a great leader and great man. But Independence is best for people, I can't reconcile sacrificing an entire society for increased stability. Also, Kings get massacred. WTF, House?

So what if your Energy Weapons are taken? People can't be trusted.

That's like saying 'Let's ban video games, people are impressionable.'

You're making general assumptions. Look at what the Remnants do, or what Arcade can do. They fight for the right things, though they quit long ago, they are for the good things of the world.

@SPAH- That can be avoided. If you help the Kings help NCR, you're helping NCR gain a foothold in the region, possibly allowing for another attempt at stealing Vegas out from under House.

I'm trying to establish peace in a chaotic district of House's city! If I can make an indigenous gang help, all the better. The BOS don't have a right to take from the people, you're right. No one has the right to cultural genocide, either.

@Martyr, I'm going to work with House until NCR starts threatening me. Then I'll work with them til they ask me to do something I don't want to do. After that, I go indie. I don't want to kill House, either...

EDIT2: I am not assisting NCR military. Just citizens. Innocent refugees. If House wants to kill a gang for saving refugees... he's too cold to lead

You said NCR is in it for the money "the NCR is in it for glory and money" and you say "Mr. House runs Vegas as a business" whats the difference?
How will he rebuild it?
the only thing he did was keep the good part that remained and gave the scraps to the people like Freeside and the Strip is like 2 Ft. away and i dont see any changes to it or anywhere else

NCR isn't in it for the money. They are in it for power. Why? Power for the sake of spreading their ideals. Why? To help people. Why? To gain resources. Why? To get power. There's the loop of NCR's goals. Unfortunate that they choose to do it with the military takeover rather than by helping communities.

@Last Thing, Drugs and Energy Weapons should be available to any and all. So long as no one is hurt. Unfortunately they lead to getting hurt almost all of the time.

I justify that on the Courier. Mr. House relies strongly on the Platinum Chip, the Chip is his Acheles Heel, he'd be the undisputed region ruler LONG ago had the War happened on time. I think the changes to New Vegas would be those of which would put Vault City or Shady Sands (per Fallout 2 style) to shame. Plus, the difference in goals is Mr. House doesn't deny he'd do it to make a buck, the NCR likes to say they do things out of the kindness of their hearts.

@Spah- You're missing it though. By helping the NCR do a 'relief effort'. You are helping the NCR, which completely countermands House. The way I see it, if you help the Kings, you sign their death warrant, you help them go to war with NCR, the Kings still keep Freeside in check. The problem is House's slides are left to ambiguous, where as NCR's is detailed. Which makes me suspicious of Mako's claim of NCR bias.

Fiends kill people for their stuff. The Brotherhood of Steel kills people for their stuff. The only difference between them is their (slightly) less rediculous armor.

The problem is that the Brotherhood and House can never coincide peacefully. Mr. House lives in a device that allows him to live forever, in a tower that's armed with lasers, where he controls a robot army. Do you think that the Brotherhood would be cool with that?
