At Least I can Spell words. The Thing about this game is, I LOVE IT, Regardless of all the Errors, but I went through this with EA. We got Robbed on Army of Two: TFD and as soon as any of us brought it up, BAM, thread locked, even if it was in an intelligent and polite manner.
I LOVE FALLOUT, but when Bethesda Gave it to obsidian, it fell to crap. Yeah I may seem pointlessly angry, but most people don't even remember what was promised for this game, because the initial promises of this game were swept under the rug so fast that most didn"t even have time to catch that. At least 5 DLC's and one with an open ending was the reason I was so happy to buy this game. They said that They wanted to capitalize on the DLC idea that was done so well in FO3. Which again brings me to this point, how do you take an idea that's already 80% done, and take 5 steps back to the 36% area and say "The game is ready!" This is unfortunately one of the worst planned projects in video game history that was supposed to be a major title. Polite enough?
OK, to be fair, I missed this post. So let me give it the actual response that it more or less deserves.
First of all, you don't love Fallout as a franchise. You love Fallout 3. That's quite different. If you
did love the Fallout franchise, you'd be aware that Obsidian's core is made up of refugees from the destruction of Black Isle Studios, the team that began the Fallout franchise back in '97. In fact, within Fallout 3 itself, Bethesda gives a well-deserved tip of the hat to Black Isle by referencing the "USS Ebon Atoll" in the Museum of Technology.
Secondly, there was, to my knowledge, never a point when FO:NV was scheduled to have more than four DLCs, or a DLC that allowed for continuation of gameplay after the main quest's conclusion. The Lucky 38, which has obviously been present in the game since the very beginning, contains in it several shelves for snowglobes. The shelf dedicated to DLC snowglobes currently has--as it has since the game's release--four slots, one for each DLC. Additionally, Jason Bergman stated http://www.destructoid.com/fallout-new-vegas-has-a-definitive-end-181927.phtml that there would be no post-game content, so unless you can find and cite a source from even earlier, I'm going to have to disbelieve you on this one.
