The Jury Rigger Perk

Does anyone else think how messed up it is that you can repair a power armour helmet with a beret? lol

Yeah. It makes a little more sense with weapons. Not so much with armor.

I think it is a neat perk and it is one i am going to have to consider as my third and current character is a Legion sympathizer but she is a shooter. I think i will need the perk to keep my guns in repair as i progress further in the game and may no longer be able to use the south most NCR camp for repairs. yea i know about weapon repair kits but why spend all that time hunting for supplies to make them when i can just take X to repair Y and be done with it.

Oh i am not arguing with you i am just saying i am glad it is there as in the case i mentioned i probably will find myself using varmit rifles and anything else i can throw at it to keep the repair up for my anti-material rifle, lol. And it should be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay cheaper to repair than the current 1500 to 2500 caps i spend to boost the rifle from 60% +/- to 100% repair level.

For future games I'd expect items to change appearance and properties a bit depending on what they are repaired with. Put sunglasses on top of your power helmet would be one good example how it could go. :-)

Well, the perk description does say something in the lines of "how you do it, noone knows except you."

It's handy, but by the time I took it I didn't need it...all the good stuff I use can be fixed with repair kits...and I have more of those than I have of certain necessary replacement gear.

As an observation, a lot of the perks I took really weren't too necessary or overly usefull. Again, by the time I got them, the reason I needed them was no longer valid. Gives me the opportunity to perfect my next character though.

a neat perk for power armor and energy weapon users. whoever is not falling into these categories, should think about taking other perks, though.
weapon repair kits are pretty easy to make, they will serve you well through the entire game, as long as you stay away from energy weapons and their incredibly high wear down rates.

I enjoy the perk, but have actually been a bit disappointed in it for repairing my Mark II Combat Armor - cannot use Legion Recruit Armor, Leather Armor, etc.... Great for weapons though.

I think after class for armour they should have class on head gear as well, so maybe a Helms would reduce the headshot multiplier to 1.5 instead of 2 for example.

Using metal armour to repair Power Armour is fair enough, but with the light clothing......

I'm building up my stats to get it purely because sniper rifles seem to be so rare and I was always running out of repair kits.

I've got bad news for you: the weapons that repair sniper rifles are not very common either :( But I suppose Service Rifles are at least extremely inexpensive to buy and use to repair.

Try the AMR or the Ranger Veteran Armor. Jury-Rigger makes repairing those so much easier.

There is always skirmish along the southern wall of Mccurran......

But You would have plenty of caps to buy service rifles as spare parts if you know how to make caps with JR...

One of my favorite perks in the game. I love repairing good weapons with useless ones. Also works well to repair items that are worth more caps with ones that are not.

I don't have the perk and have more caps than I know what to do with. All while raking up 7k-10k cap repair bills every 4-5 game days. Once at level 30 you'll have caps coming out of your ears. It's just that simple.

The perk is more geared for the lazy who don't want to be bothered with the repair system at all. All that stuff is effort. Then there is the cheap who wouldn't spend a single cap on a repair, even if they had several million, and break out in a rash when they *gasp* buy ammo. Jury Rigging is perfect then. Otherwise it's a useless svcker perk that sounds better than it turns out to be in the end. I restarted my first character because of the perk.

A much better reason to max out the repair skill is to make Hand Loaded ammo. Because Match Grade ammo is epic in the AMR and there is no such thing as 'too much damage'.
