The only bad thing about ''Dead Money'' ...*SPOILERS*... Whe

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 7:30 am

I dissagree. For me the ideal thing would be this dlc set in the Mojave in a new area. At the end you can then gain control over the madre, and it becomes a new home, with options and benefits e.g disable the cloud, holograms patrol the streets killng anythig hostile, so it would be a fort for me, maybe have it so getting X madre chips allows you to upgrade and repair parts (vendiing machines convert chips to materials needed). The prize should have been the Madre imo. Its not a casino, its a fortress, a geck ) in a way) and a weapon. Its vault should have been its control system. I know that would have been alot of work, but it would make sense given what it is and it would have made an amazing reward, your using the Madre for what it was built for, it was built to act as a shelter, and to rebuild, not hold some gold.

Yes the gold is about letting go. The entire dlc is about letting go. Dog lets go of hunger, God lets go of control, Christene lets go of revenge, Dean lets go of the money, and Elijah dosent let go. You see grafiti (cant spell) saying "the casino is his collar", meaning it controls him because he cant let go.
Anyway I glitched and took them all because they were unique.

Yes it has a nice story and having Elijah that is the missing overseer of the BoS is hilarious but what I'm saying is that there should be a tangible reward like having the opportunity of coming back to the sierra madre but at the end you have just 3 gold bars, the holorifle , the assassins suit and a pair of weapons... maybe just one super cool weapon or a golden power armor or something like that...

Maybe the ability to wear power armor even...I do like the holorifle, it does dmg over time and if enemies are grouped close, it hits them all. I'm loving that!

I was kind of disapointed with then end reward too. Gold is good and all, but that's not what I expected. The majority of the time I thought it would be some secret weapon or something simmilar that was being developped privately by the owner, until I actually got into the casino itself. Once I got the holograms running properly and realized I could gamble there and heard Elijah make a comment about how the casino "will always welcome me back" I thought that the end reward would be the casino itself. It seemed perfect, your own fortress. I was almost entirely convinced that that was the reward once I played Dean Domino's record in the theatre. I figured you could find other holotapes around and later once you claim the casino yourself you could go to the projector and play one of your collected hologram performances. Maybe there could have been some way to drain the cloud from the surrounding area at the end or leave it be. Perhaps if you drained it it would kill of the ghost people and explain it as there bodies adapting enough that without it they could not survive. Then you could finally open the casino to the public, with you taking the place as owner.

Too bad that wasn't the case...

Yes thats what I thought, but nope that wasn't the case, maybe the gameplay is a good reward but I want rewards that I can take with me like the t-45b power armor of anchorage or something like that ...

Well I had 10 luck on my latest character and spent some time at the casino's slot machine and now I have 16.000 madre chips which means one hell of a lot of stimpacks and weapon repair kits.
So that's my current reward. :P

Energy weapons get a sniper rifle that's better than Gauss Rifle, but look up the Holorifles weapon mod location in the DLC and find them all.
There is a snowglobe worth 2000 casino chips.
There's the slot machines which gave me a ridiculous sum of chips.
There are gold bars which are worth a lot but you can't take them all.
There are two new armors which look kickass, Sierra Madre Guard Armor and Assassin's Suit.
Bear-Trap Fist+ is also a great weapon for unarmed characters.
And the new Guns weapon I hear is pretty good as well.
You can also give Veronica a new perk after the DLC.

Reward-wise though.
Well.
O:A had an overpowered tank armor, an overpowered stealth armor and an overpowered energy sniper.
Pitt had a crapload of unique new clothing and three nice new weapons for Melee, EW and Small Guns.
BS broke the game but did give us the Incinerator and Tesla Cannon.
Pitt broke game more but rewarded us with a new sandbox area which could be entered and exited at any point.
And Mothership Zeta gave us more over powered stuff.

Is it worth 10 dollars for the rewards?
I dunno, maybe. Depends on what kinda player you are and what kinda reward you were expecting.
Is it worth 10 dollars for it's setting, theme, writing and atmosphere?
You damn well better believe it.

Well pitt had one of my favorite power armors that was the one of the cow skull in the shoulder and I enjoyed the number of options you had in that DLC, and I think DLC's should have good story and good looting.
O:A had a cool story because it explained some pre-war stuff, and the looting you said.
Pitt had lots of options like I said because you could team up with slaves and slavers... and looting had good weapons and power armor.
BS had a weird story but I wanted to keep playing fallout so it was good and well looting was good too , like you said tesla cannon, Incinerator...
PL had a good story, the best map of all of them and the looting was kind of stupid I think but you could come back...
MZ had a cool story, not the best one of all but it was different and looting was great cause all the weapons and the samurai armor...
Now in new vegas DM you have great story, but you can't come back so you can't enjoy all the enviroment and looting wasn't good for me.
I accept both of this games are my favorite games but this DLC wasn't that great and if you really like a game you have to accept that there are errors too, I'm not saying this was an error but it wasn't that great...

Yes a sierra is a part of a mountain chain, but it's saw too. In a mater of speaking in Mexico are two mountain chains (or well part of a mountain chain) called Sierra Madre Oriental and Sierra Madre Occidental... So in the DLC it's the one of mountains. But they could have done a saw too.

Or maybe an ecellent story and a reward that makes actual sense. Oh wait they already gave us that -_- cummon guys! Why is no one happy when they DON'T give you a god weapon. I am glad that it took a different direction. (Though having the sierra Madre would have been awesome! Just no holograms anywhere but there. They is overpowered)

Yes, best reward would have been if the madre was in the mojave (just a blocked off section) and at the end you can clear away all of the cloud, have holograms patrol the streets/casino and make the place your personal fort, maybe even have npcs come and gamble, merchants. Basically a new town with a home.

I only cared for one item from this DLC:
Sierra Madre reinforced helmet looks like Cobra Commander's battle helmet. I was one happy G.I. Joe fan.

My reward was best friend ED-E hates me now... :sadvaultboy: (Let's hope that gets fixed, soon.)

My other rewards... 6 gold bars (more than enough), several interesting weapons, great new armor, etc.

Best of all, though, is something I don't think anyone has mentioned. The abandoned BOS bunker is a great house. It's got one of those magic dispenser things, a steady supply of chips, both benches with storage right there, lots of footlockers... everything you'd want but one of those hotplates and a fridge.

Now if I can only get ED-E back.

I think the "real" reward here guys is not about all the items you can collect but the story itself. There are random hints throughout the DLC that suggest another DLC will be coming out. Courier vs Courier in the "Divide" wherever that may be, sounds awsomely epic to me. Imagine fighting against another well equipt oppenent such as yourself. For me thats the real reward.

I do agree most of the new items are garbage, but the story made up for it!

I for one am glad the devs saw fit not to include some absurdly powerful, game-breaking item. You got some items that while useful, don't throw entirely throw off game balance.

Even if they did, you are under no obligation to use it.

Im just glad they gave me a nice home in the end(abandond bos bunker).I hope they give me more housing options in the rest of the dlcs.I got all the gold out,but Im probly not guna sell it cause its rare and I dont need caps. The game play was frustrating at times, but once I got used to it,it wasnt that bad.Prity much my reward was a house and decent game play.
