So am I the Only one not having any issues with the Game?

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 3:11 am

At the beginning, yes. My textures were screwed up(but that was fixed), and my Wood-Elf character's game got broken thanks to the Cidnah Mineuest. But, after 4 patches, I started a Breton Character, and everything is going perfectly. The game LOOKS great, no texture issues at all except some items in inventory taking a little bit to get the texture right. My game runs smoothly, no lag or crashes. And I haven;t run across any broken quests. I THOUGHT I might have had a broken Magic system a few minutes ago, but I was proven incorrect. At this juncture, the game seems perfect. And I'm playing on 360. am I the only one to experience this?

Nope - I'm on PS3 and no problems! Still addicted to Skyrim, and loving every minute of it.

Xbox games start to have problems when the save file size gets bigger, mostly reported about 14MB (they start about 4MB). Mine is fine at about 17MB, but I have loads of space on the HDD. There are ways to avoid excessive file bloat. If you can be bothered, pick up weapons dropped by enemies, and place them on a corpse, or they will remain after the corpses clear and the enemies respawn. Always pick nirnroots the first time you come across them. Don't store hundreds of items in containers, store what you will use in the future or just looks cool, sell the rest. Delete saves and keep three of four for a character, no more (and keep one a while back from the latest, in case you run into real problems).

Had a major issue in the beginning when I couldn't use a bow - this was caused by the game assigning random/incorrect letters to use for archery and other things, during installation. Took four days before another player helped me with a fix.

Otherwise, some minor issues but nothing to complain about, nothing that impacts playing and enjoyment.

I was in off-line mode when patch 1.2 and backwards flying dragons was released, and so far, I've not have any problems with any of the patches - except yesterday I saw a horse that flew across the screen in the air, went upside down in a river, came back up and flew from the screen. That was funny.

There are a lot of players that are having problems right now after 1.5, more so then after 1.4, it seems. See Harware/Software forum for more info if you're interested.

I have over 570 hours since release, but I purchased D3 digital release, which starts on 15 May, at that time, I'll probably finish playing Skyrim for a long time.

Disregarding glitchy shadows, I've had no performance nor ingame issues at all that impact me in the slightest way.

Perhaps I'm just more tolerant than others who get their pink panties in a twist when something happens.

I've experienced three CTDs in 200 hours of play. That's about it. I haven't encountered any quest-related bugs or anything like that.

I haven't had any game-breaking problems.

Only issue I've had is not being able to Alt+Tab to desktop and if I Ctrl+Alt+Delete to get the desktop I can't get back into Skyrim even when it's still running away in the background and I can still hear the sound effects going on. So if I want to get back to the desktop I actually have to save and close. Not too much of a problem because the game doesn't take long for me to load it back up. Then there was one amusing glitch where some loot that fell to the ground floated up into the sky until it got so small you couldn't see it any more. I had a bit of a chuckle over that.

Besides that I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary.

The only problem I had was awhile back when my character got stuck. He would walk and sprint and such, but it was like he was stuck in one position and wouldnt move. This was after I walked through the gates or Morthral (sp?). Since then that has been the only problem I have had, and the only problem I have had completely while playing the game. Now I havent checked my save file size, but I know I have alot of saves due to wanting to save alot in case something does happen....

Some bugs here & there, and while not game breaking, they are totally weird - Some can potentially mess up your game if you're doing certain quest lines though that's for sure. I have also run into quests that cannot be completed at all (NO not canceled, just stuck in the journal forever).

The ever so popular http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/522656027496427524/4F9B11B1D4540150CB3390EA61A8D848D32514B4/ glitch comes to mind if you decide to help him. Or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9r58rnzr644 is also pretty weird, but still fun if you already completed that quest line, maybe not so much if you haven't.

No problems whatsoever. Daggerfall on the other hand, without the fan patch I don't know what I would do.

I haven't experienced any form of glitches either. I just think that I'm extremely lucky. Most of the posts about people having glitches have never happened to me before. Although I am an Xbox 360 player, if that makes any difference

Almost nothing wrong. The game works fine and smoothly. I'm on PC and find it the least glitchy of any of the elder scriolls I've played. better than Daggerfall, Morrowind or Oblivion that means.

Nothing too major or that I couldn't work around/fix myself, but I am having continued texture problems(nothing game breaking) and the game will lock up from time to time(mostly on the load screens) but other then that nothing unless it was something that I did to break a quest/item or what ever. But Oblivion conditioned me for all the little bugs and what not that tend to pop up in TES games so I think I'm good
P.s. Forgot to say I'm on 360.

except some items in inventory taking a little bit to get the texture right

Does not ="not having any issues" . It's already a well established fact that everyone's save file will be different and how you play the game can determine which bugs you encounter and when. If 1.4 was perfect, why would there be so many fixes in 1.5?

you are not the only one, that for sure, but i will probably have a special issue on my main for a long, long while.

sometimes out of nowhere the dialogue with the aspect of peryite keep popping up and no matter what i do it won't stop. can be solved with several reloads, even if just for a while though.

I had my share of CTDs right after 1.5 came out but it seems to be getting better with the time somehow and yesterday I had only one crash.

Also I run a bunch of mods so I can't compain too much when things go awry.

I played about 50 hours on PS3 in the first month after release, and only ever had one problem. The first time I killed the very first dragon at Whiterun (only a few hours into playing), when I walked toward it and it started turning into ash, the whole game suddenly locked up and froze solid and nothing I did would fix it. My PS3 stopped responding completely, I had to shut the power off and restart. I'm still not 100% certain if that was a Skyrim crash or a PS3 hardware crash, but my guess is Skyrim because this happened literally the second day after the game's release, and considering I've had the PS3 for five years and never once had a total lockup like that before, it seems more likely to have been Skyrim-related. In any case, it only happened once and I never had any other problems aside from acknowledged bugs, such as not being able to marry Lydia and the Gildergreen permanently-stuck-mesh issue.

I've now been playing on PC for 26 hours according to Steam and I've yet to experience a single CTD even with 20+ mods in my current game. Granted, I do keep restarting new games as I test out different mods and decide whether to use them, but it still feels weird to me that I haven't CTD'd yet. My poor Oblivion is running 300+ mods and crashes every couple of hours, and that's what I'm used to, lol. The only vaguely buggy thing I've had happen in Skyrim (other than some oddities due to mods not fully removing themselves, which is why I started testing them in new games) is that on two different occasions my character somehow got stuck between rocks and walls, and nothing I did could get her free again until I mounted a rescue mission using the console. I'm just glad that never happened on the PS3 since there's no way to fix it except reloading a save.

There are some items that, if picked up before starting the related quest, can cause the quest to not be completed properly without pc console commands. I just make sure to have backup save files for emergencies.

When traveling outdoors, the game will freeze from time to time (never happened indoors...yet.) I think it helped when I'd stop by inns (Rorikstead, Dragon Bridge, etc.), when traveling long distances, as triggering loading screens seems to reduce the risk of the game freezing. For rp purposes, it also gives my character a much needed rest when traveling, even if he hasn't slept in over 200 hours.

Skyrim has been great from the get go for me. One of the most stable releases by Bethesda with Morrowind coming in second place which was fixed incredibly fast with a patch update back in the day.

Four characters:

2 MQ failures (gamebreaking failures)
Companion questline broken
Unable to obtain Alteraion Ritual Spell
Unable to Obtain Destruction

The odd thing is that none of these happened with my first two characters. All of those bugs have occurred during the last two. My save files never have more than 4 saves in them when I quit the game and I delete saves throughout the game.

I don't know if that tells techie people anything. It doesn't make much sense to me. But that's been my experience.

Daggerfall was the king of crashing when it was released. Yet even with the crashes every two minutes i kept on playing because there was nothing like it and in many ways still isnt though Skyrim feels like a return to its magnificence and to me Skyrim is the best Elder Scrolls chapter yet.
