Am I the only one who doesn't gamble? : Fallout: New Vegas

I wonder if there's anyone else like me who just doesn't gamble in the game - I don't do it IRL (don't worry, I'm not squeaky clean, there are other less costly vices!) and I just don't feel any urge to gamble in New Vegas either. I'm on my 3rd character and don't even know how Caravan works, and never been great at blackjack - card games, slots, and roulette just don't float my boat... I can't be the only one, so if there's anyone else like me please own up and keep me company!!!!

The neon lights in Vegas sure are pretty though

Not the gambling type myself. It does bring up a great atmosphere of New Vegas and all other Casinos, though.

I've played my fair share of caravan, but I don't bother with blackjack etc. I find it boring myself, and thanks to Fiends in particular I never have problems making cash.

I love blackjack myself... other than that I don't bother with slots or Caravan. :shrug:

Good to know I'm not the only one. My husband has an occasional flutter on the football (meaning soccer for those in the US!), has even won a bit of money once or twice (biggest win was ￡240 from a ￡10 bet by guessing the goal outcome of a game), Couldn't ever bet on the horses cos my dad used to be a jockey and I'll never support the industry given the way he was treated. But in the case of this game, casino games just aren't my thing, and I'm not good at card games myself so I'm not going to bet money on something I don't 'get'.

Still, it's not like I'm short of caps anyway.

Once I figured out how to play Caravan I never lost after that. I've also spent alot of time on Blackjack and the Slots winning like 2k caps on blackjack and even 8k caps at the slots.

I like playing low stakes blackjack in NV, and irl when the people at the table are interesting. Caravan in game is pretty fun when the AI is playing well, I always just randomize my deck for play.

I'm with the OP on this. Maybe it's a Brit thing, the casino's over here aren't exactly the glam places like the States have. Mecca? Tacky..
I tried to play caravan but ran out of 'patience' trying to understand it! There is a clip on You tube somewhere on how to do it but even that bored me after a few seconds..
How come no one plays chess in Fallout either, there are enough boards lying around that for the life of me I can't find a use for!

I don't gamble my self either.

Actually if I wasn't afraid to ruin my reputation with NCR, I would have killed all the casino guys hehe. I spend time in the Strip and other casino areas only if some quest make me do it.

Used to gamble. Stopped with recent characters because it's just too easy to make cash that it really takes away from the whol "survival" element of the game.

I gamble on every character. Playing Blackjack I always make several thousand caps before I'm in the Strip itself.

Gambling has to be one of the safer ways to make money in this game.

I am not a gambler. Played some Caravan. Played - and lost - a single hand of Blackjack.

I want the achievement for getting banned but I don't want to gamble. :sigh:

Tried the first demo game of Caravan with the idiot in Goodsprings. Couldn't make heads or tales of it, so I never bothered again.

Grabbed 40 chips at a couple of the casinos around Vegas and lost them pretty quick at Blackjack. Never bothered again.

Of course, by the time I got around the strip, I had 20000+ chips from sidequests and loot, so there wasn't any need to raise money for anything.

(Don't gamble or bet IRL, either. I used to watch Poker on ESPN, but it got over-produced and boring.)

This time around, i'm playing a 3 strength sniper, with the Hardercore pack installed.
So everything is heavy and i can't go sell everything. Gambling makes sense to this toon

I fancy occasional Blackjack - after I earn for implants and grab the armor from Gomorrah I play for recreational purposes more than anything. They should make two changes - allow player to play "real" game without Luck bonuses. And of course add Texas Hold'em.

I spend literally hours gambling...

Slots, Blackjack. Roulette...

And I don't save and reload if I lose either....still making a fortune ( been banned 2x now )

Nope ,dont gamble i have enough 50k+ money dont need anything more, i wish they gave AMMO instead of money, they i might have it a try, cos i lack ammo in this game )

I had my friend teach me Blackjack just so I could play it in this.

But I don't really gamble much, other than when I need caps. Slots and roulette bore me, and I don't really understand Caravan...

I enjoy playing Caravan (or would if the AI was a challenge) but slots and the other Luck-based games aren't very entertaining in my view. I played them for the achievement and easy caps, but that's about it.

Playing a 4 strength (inc. implant) sniper w. the Hardercore pack, i can't carry everything that drops, so not alot of money making going on.

Gambling actually makes sense to this toon, aswell as Pack Rat is worth it. probably the best toon i've played so far
