Am I the only one who's not experienced major bugs?

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 6:24 am

I have experienced some bug, but thankfully they were albe to be solved.

I have also ecperienced CTD's. I thought it was a problem caused by my computer, so I am glad that it is not my fault ^^

Things for me are pretty good since 1.3 and 1.4. Before that it was like playing post-Broken Steel Fallout 3.

I'm having constant texture corruption (not CTDs) that seem to originate from DX9 memory handling. My "new" 285GTX card are getting crashes all over the place that I never had with my old 9800GTX card. About 20% of these crashes (texture corruption) will freeze the computer completely, the rest I need only restart the game. Sometimes I can play for a whole day without a hitch, other times I get them from anywhere at first startup of the day to like 20 times a day. Latest patch seems to have helped, but it's still not immune.

CTDs I pretty much only got when trying the hires texture pack, and I don't run any resource hungry mods, on reasonably low settings for my low end (XP, only 2GB ram) system. Always (incl FONV) a problem with sounds that "stack up" and don't play for a while, until they are all played at once. Like footsteps not playing, then 10 footsteps at the same time. Happens a lot.

Got a new bug today, in which my horse attacked a vampire and got killed. When I bought a new horse it only said "ride horse" (no character name, and not steal), and when I dismounted it, it returned to the stable. Annoying, for a horse I didn't steal.

and on the other side (2 sided things work like this in skyrim, read some letters, so that would be a minor bug? just stayin on topic here) we have people like this guy who gets mad at nothing and for no discernible reason :whistling:
yeah, this guy seems ultra upset and it's honestly hilarious haha..

On Xbox 360 I've had very few issues. I'm at about 230 hours on one character, all patches installed.

The only issues worth mentioning would be:

- Collect bounty from Skald never disappearing from Misc Obj's
- Lag when more than 3 spells are being cast(ed?) (by myself and others)
- When I do all 3 words of Fire/Frost/Ice shout it freezes/skips in the middle of it
- Bottom shelf of the bookcase nearest to the front door in Breezehome has books stuck on it
- The way that the game tracks stolen items svckS, as half the time they'll be unmarked
___or difficult to differentiate when trying to take them out of my inventory and crap

Think that's it.. any other issues I had were fixed by patches or expected lag when playing for 6+ hours non-stop.

I've experienced three CTDs, so far. That's about it.

the same number for me and that has been it as far as things I would consider actually bad. Aside from the rare falling mammoth the game has ran good, no broken questlines or anything, which I am happy for because some quests in my Oblivion would always break. =/

For me, Skyrim has, thusfar, been the least buggy game from BGS. I've not had one CTD, have not experienced any game- or quest-breaking bugs, or any other major glitches.

The only annoyances I have encountered are the usual TES fair (getting stuck in scenery) and the hot-key issue, which is really more of a design flaw than a bug.

Could I be the only one?

Did not either except the Louis Letrush clone glitch ( 5 of em now.. Hating it )

Funny, My game ran just fine. But then after reading the complaint forums and bug lists, my game suddly started glitching up. Not in ways that I may have never noticed but have been brought to my attention...but like studdering, lag, a few NPC pathing issues, etc. Looks like the citizens of Whiterun work for Aperture now, they all just sorta warp to places. Weird.

I have to know. How do you stand the smell, or even breathe at all, with your head stuck so far up there?

One CTD in over 300 hours of gameplay. I was running around outside Riften when I suddenly found myself staring at my desktop. No warning signs and no error message. Thought I'd accidentally tabbed myself out of the game. But no, it wasn't running.

I found that as you progress through the game and accumulate quests the AI becomes laggier. NPC:s are not as responsive and some quest updates take a little too much time. Is the game constantly checking on all unresolved quests? That would be a waste of CPU power, imo.

Unmodded Skyrim: a few (about four iirc) CTD's, and a broken quest here and there. Nothing major or game breaking though.

Modded Skyrim after 1.4 patch: stable as a rock.

a few CTDs and some silly clipping. Haven't bothered to patch it yet. I'll catch up when the CK comes out.

Its improved a lot since the 1.4 patch came out. I noticed many of the bugs that I encountered on my first playthrough have been fixed. There are still some but not as many.

Newsflash: CK is out, been so for quite a few days. ;)

Also, the CK on it's own doesn't improve anything in the game.

Just gonna say, not everyone will experience bugs in Skyrim, that doesn't mean it's not buggy. No one person can do every quest in every combination of ways, that's why they need lots of people to play test a game. I'm sure the OP is not the only one not to encounter major bugs, but what exactly is that saying? It's not really saying anything in my book. Some PS3 players could not even play until patch 1.4 came out, some have happily put in hundreds of hours. I don't really get the point of threads like this. =/

"There are 7 billion people in the world, so probably not"

Jokes aside, you are lucky, as bug free copies are an increasing rarity. I used to be in the same boat as you, but unfortunately by game has slowly degraded into an unplayable mess.

No offense but I really hate I when people use that "am I the only one" crap.

To answer your question, most my time with Skyrim I had minor issues until my habit of creating to many characters bit me in the butt. Skyrim started freezing every 10 to 40 mintues until I figured it out that I had to delete most of my charactes which I was not happy about.

People are just being happy over the fact that their game runs (semi-)crashfree.

Why does this bother you?

You must be answering the question wrong. Simply tell them No. If you hate the question then a No should come easy. So when someone asks "Am I the only one...?" do you answer boldy and say "No, you are not!"

No, you're not the only one, there's actually quite a few of us.

I have yet to encounter any major 'showstopping' bugs.

I've only encountered one. Farkas doesn't turn into a werewolf when he's supposed to. Other than that, the game is fine.
