Actually, I appreciate this thread. I was about to get on here and ask how people's experiences with Skyrim were so far. I've had a fair amount of CTDs prior to 1.3 (roughly every hour or so), but I've been nervous about getting my save file up there, even post 1.3. I would hate to pour 150+ hrs into a character and not even be able to load the save, so I've just been messing around with mods and avoiding investing a whole lot of time into the game.

Blood on the Ice won't start and when I went back in time to see Alduin's banishment the game got stuck once. No big deal, I would have liked to do the murder mystery quest though, but I have other characters and will fix it myself anyway when the CK comes out.

Every software has bugs, not just games and certenly not only gamesas stuff. I can however understand people raging over bugs, since some spent 50+ hours on a character and suddenly the MQ is all broken. Others are just a little bit trolling, but most bug complaints have to be taken seriously.

Nope. you're not alone OP. The only bug in my game is the bug that prevents me from killing the people I want to kill, which is easily solved by editing the .ini file.

You must be new to the internet.

I've been 'online' since the BBS/Aminet days on the Amiga so your baseless assumptions are full of fail.

Are you talking about Essential NPCs? That is no bug...

Not a bug, but annoying as hell smetimes. If I did lead the Stormcloeaks to victory, why can't i go kill every Imperial in the camps? Because most officers there are essential.

At least the essential thing prevents you from great ideas like going nuts in the Corposarium and discover about 100+ hours in that you can't proceed with the MQ. Gods, I was probably the worst Nerevarine ever. :sadvaultboy:

Well, technically its not a bug but it is for me, and a gamebreaking one at that. Glad I play on PC otherwise this game would have pissed me off to the extreme.

I have come to one of two conclusions: either you are ALL lying/exaggerating regarding the severity of these bugs, or I am the luckiest son of a nutcracker on the face of this planet, because my game runs absolutely flawlessly.

You seem to be implying the former, which falls under "it's the world that's crazy, not me!". I've had plenty of bugs that could only be resolved through the use of the console, particularly the one where you need to investigate a murder in Windhelm. Can't go through a character without that one screwing up. So either you are this "lucky" or you didn't trigger the conditions for these bugs to take place. I'm going with the latter.

On my version (PS3) I run into an occasional FPS drop for 30 seconds or so. Pops up every 4-5 hours. I'v fallen through the ground a few times, although these have bin patched, the bookshelves, and mannequins are broken (although I haven't tested this in a while). There's also a few bugs on my wife's PC version, but nothing that's to big of a deal. Most people are just complaining about it not being perfect.

300ish hours of game play and I have run into a few bugs. None of them are game breaking, or a huge deal. I haven't found any bugs in the MQ, and I don't believe I'v run into any bugs for side story lines, such as DB, CoW, etc.

I am on the 360. I have the guide. I know for a fact I have completed almost 90% of actual quests. They didn't bug, and were all completed exactly how the guide insinuates. My game does not have bugs.

I have more or less 100% completion and there are a few uncompletable quests, namely the Bard quests which broke when I found the quest item before taking the quest.

The key difference is the guide. A person following the guide would do everything in the right order and hence experiences a fairly bug-less game.

X360 also happens to be the lead platform which is the most tested. So hardware related problems experienced by PS3 and lesser PCs are undoubtedly overlooked.

While I would say most people tend to overstate the extent of their bug issues, they also usually have some basis for their complains.

I don't see why it's so hard to believe both sides, that some have issues and some don't. I see no need to go calling people liars whatever problems they may or may not be having.
I myself haven't been playing long, (about 40-50 hours total) and have noticed a bit of lag only recently on my PS 3 game, so I know there is some truth to it, I'm just hoping it doesn't get any worse before the patch comes out.

Unfortunately this approach does more damage than good. You don't beat trolls by being a troll OP.

Theat being said, I had daily crashes on PC before patch 1.3.10 but that issue now seems to be resolved. Other than that I've had quite a few AI bugs, a few minor quest bugs and even a quest bug which would have been unfixable if I was not on PC. The Dawnstar Skull of Corruption quest anyone? It has a nasty bug where the main NPC enters a building with you and then mysteriously teleports to the near end of the dungeon leaving you stuck behind a locked door that only he can open. Thank the Nine for the console and moveto command or else I would stil be trying to get it done.

So yeah, there are bugs and they happen to everyone at some point to some degree. Many people ignore the smaller bugs and even have a laugh at some. Some google for solutions for major bugs and some complain on forums. Sticking your fingers in your ears and going "lalalalala" will not change the reality of the situation. It will only make you look foolish.

I agree though, that the way people go into all attack mode a lot of the time when faced with bugs is not cool.

I play on xbox and the only bugs I have had is one with that nightmares quest and a few loading screen crashes, I think it must depend on different factors

My character is level 59, i've completed nearly all side quests in the game except two. Thieves Guild and College of Winterhold beause the game has bugged and dialogue options are not available, making a new player is not an option as im so far ahead and have put so much time in to this current one. So don't just assume we're all exaggerating or lying, I have specifically just made an account because of this stupid assumption and to prove you wrong!

Some people have tons of bugs and others don't. I guess it depends on your hardware and setup which is why I guess bugs slip through. Personally I'm running 6 characters ranging from level 30ish to in the teens at this point and have had no broken quests and only extremely minor bugs. ( The occasional NPC who won't equipt their clothes and a very few flying rakes.)

I've had plenty of bugs, but none that I find hamper my gameplay. My ps3 copy seems lag-free unless I play it non-stop for 6+ hours and only then a simple reset fixes it compared to everyone saying it's a bloody mess.

As for between ps3 and pc version, I've seen even less bugs on PC. From my ps3 copy, I'd see things like graphical bugs (floating rocks, trees, mammoth falling from sky, etc) but as far as quests go, the only one I've encountered was companions not advancing because I did the jarl winterhold quest where you can repeat it and it breaks companions because the location is in the same place as a companion quest.

Nah its just that people who are experiencing issues are 'louder' than those without!

I am 150 hours in, level 42, completed Mages Guild, Companions, most of the Civil War and just started MQ. So far 2 hardlocks, one that resumed itself after like 2 mins and a couple of other funny things like floating goblets or whatever, saved game is 12MB. No major lag unless I play longer than 3 hours in one stint then you simply quit and restart anyhow. Be careful saying you haven't had any issues with Skyrim, like me you will be called a liar, blind, or even better a Bethesda Fan-boy which is very mature! I mean just because THEY are having issues the whole WORLD must be too!

Nope, not the only one. I've had a few minor bugs, some purple textures and a couple ctds but nothing that I consider "game breaking".

If you're just ready and following the guide, you probably have less chance to run into bugs since you're following a cookbook instead of going crazy and random all over the place, which open games a for imo.

I have had issues, but not many.

You say some are new to the internet ? Maybe you are new to the internet if you can't stand people writing in forums about their problems (where else ?) and not realizing that of course most of the people without problems don't take time coming in here, but play instead.

Respect those who have bugs, and enjoy your bug free experience, instead of implying that those people troll or lie. What are you looking for anyway ? To promote a reputation for Bethesda that their games are bug-free and that the complainers on the forum are only big bad trolls that try to hurt Bethesda reputation ? Why do you need so much to deny the other people's problems ? What's it to you, who have a bug-free experience ? This I don't understand, because it is fundamentally not much or your business if everything runs smoothly for you. Or maybe it is indeed just basic really devoted fan reflex reaction (it's only a supposition, don't get started now).

My game is anti mage bugged for my mage...the college quest line died on me halfway thru and now a side quest with a special spell reward is dead.
Not to mention all the other bugs like picking up quest items before the quest starts leads to the quest being dead when you start it...
so many bugs ruin a great game
