The real Trolls of Skyrim

No, this happens to me too. On my first play through it started happening in Solitude: if I exited a building, a dragon would collapse onto the ground ragdoll style and writhe/twitch around a bit before going still. You could completely walk through it, just like a dragon skeleton, and the game would still show its name and let you search its body although it'd be empty. In my second play through, I had a dragon randomly fall to the ground behind me, it died and gave me its soul/body loot and so I thought it just maybe, I dunno, crashed. Anyway, since then I've had an identical dragon pop up in certain places twitching and jittering around just like in Solitude - as TME said, they're sometimes stuck between walls too.

Never happened to me. Must be a glitch in newer patches?

I gave up thinking that dragons were smart the first time one attacked the College of Winterhold. It survived multiple fireballs for about five seconds. And what the heck did expect to accomplish? The buildings are stone and all but a couple of mages in that place are essential!

Was minding my own business one day....

when I spotted a dragon attacking several bandits a ways off. I wander over that way to wait for my chance to clean up and profit, when Alduin flies in and raises another dragon from a burial mound that was nearby. So for a few moments, there were three dragons within hero-swallowing distance of me. Of coure Alduin flies off, and then the raised dragon attacks a giant that wandered by at that moment. So I'm hitting that dragon a bit when it flies off, and I get a pissed off giant trying to club my gourd flat. About the time me and my follower kill the giant, the dragon lands on top of me and is trying to BBQ me easy over again. After a bit of a tiff we kill that dragon, just in time for the first dragon to decide to land on top of us and try its luck at the hero buffet. After yet another brisk battle, that dragon bites the dust. But before I can even slurp up it's soul, the two damned bandits, which had somehow survived to that point, decided to jump us. Of course their endeavor was a doomed one, and finally me and my follower stood there amidst the blood, guts, and smoldering bones of 2 dragons, 2 bandits and a giant, almost heaped on top of each other.

Kinda makes ya appreciate the quiet moments.

Take a look on cover of the box your game disk game in. Then ask yourself why your complaining about a game full of dragons when you bought it knowing thats what its full of. Its a bit like buying an F1 game then saying you dont like all these F1 cars in your game why have the devs done this to me.

It's not that I don't want dragons in the game. I never once said that. I'm just stating that since I have all the shouts unlocked there needs to be a way to limit or stop random dragon attacks. I would at least like them to limit it to only two and not sixty dragons per random wilderness journey. And before you yell, I was being sarcastic.

If they stopped completely then you wouldn't be able to smith dragon armour.

Souls to Perks mod on the workshop. Good for using those extra souls.

I was playing a pure warrior character with Tougher and Smarter Dragons (makes them land less) and Resilient Dragon (Reduces NPC damage and unlocks Unrelenting Force and Dismay shouts for dragons) mods. Walked into Falkerth the first time as it was being attacked by a dragon. So of course, I joined in to take it out (I was maybe lvl 15 or so). While I was battling it, I get roasted from behind. A second dragon had come and I didn't notice it. I looked up and noticed a third dragon circling above the one that just strafed me. Needless to say, the third one also joined the fray for a very interesting battle that I barely survived and most of Falkerth's townspeople didn't.

Another time, shortly after I started playing with Warzones mod, I had my higher level mage and came across a warzone between Forsworn and Imperials. It had just started so there were a lot of NPC's running about. So I joined the Imperials. Two dragons decided to join in the fun. So I called in my own dragon to help out. So, three dragons flying about, a bunch of NPC's and total craziness. When all was said and done, two stood upon the blood soaked plains. Myself and one imperial guy. Was kind of funny actually.

Yeah, that can be an issue. But I like the deadric armor's looks and base damage resistance better than dragon armor. I also have mounds of dragon scales and bones in my house. I could probably give every soldier a free set if I felt like it.

Today I was fighting an ancient dragon at the Windhlem docks. I has his health about halfway depleted when he decided to fly across the river and toast some very menacing looking chickens at a farm. I seriously feel like that dragon's priorities are a little messed up.

I particularly like the fact that, even the dozenth time I've had to fight a Dragon whilst going to Whiterun for some shopping, afterward a whole pile of NPC's will gather around and announce they've "never seen anything like it". Where have they been since november.

Was input side markarth when this occurred. Decided to stop and speak to a farmer when two dragons appear. Playing on master with the deadly dragons mod on hard made things difficult. Stayed back with my bow and let the guards and my companions tank them when 2 werewolves, which where added by another mod, begin attacking the guards. In the end their was a lot of free stuff laying around.

Maiq the Liar trolled me once. And that was on my first encounter of him. As I almost got close to him he said to me "Oh, my, there is a fight again". I turned around to look for a fight, maybe some bandits or thugs or dragon but there was nobody. Only peacefull goat and chicken.

Did you killed a Spriggan recently? When they take control of goats and chickens, there is a chance of those animals will still be considering "attacking you" though they are showing signs of being peaceful.

Anybody notice anything different about dragon behavior since 1.4?

I've noticed on a few occasions that after a bit of a fight ... while they still have plenty of life left ... , some just land and sit there apparently waiting to be killed.

Can't remember this happening before but, maybe I just didn't notice.

I'm experiencing the opposite, but I don't know when this started. The dragons seem more "spunky" and one attacked as I stepped out of the mages college. It perched on the wall and gave everyone in the courtyard hell. I had one attack me, seemingly, from nowhere when I was standing on an island in one of the lakes. I had no warning.

Ah, no. At that time I haven't met any spriggan at all.

Dragons are like giant cliffracers.

I could not agree more. But at least cliffracers went down fairly quickly and didn't fight every menacing looking goat within 10 miles

The thing I dislike about dragons is their priorities, like really is something glitching out? I've been in so many dragon fights where I'll have gotten his health to 50% and then the dragon will fly off, kill some goats and chickens and look for other targets, like wtf? Or he will eventually land but he'll land ages away making me run off trying to get to him only to get there and have him fly off again. or sometimes One will appear, fly around me and roast some nearby animals then fly away.

I finally had, what i fell, to be a legit and amazing dragon fight the other day. I was playing my pure warrior char. and was leaving riverwood on my way to helgen to kill some bandits that were rumoured to be hiding there. On my way past the guardian stones a dragons appears over the tree tops roaring and flying about. it hadnt spotted me and wasn't attacking anything, just sought of patrolling for food. So i climbed atop some rocks above the path, i was standing on a jutting rock on a cliff above the mine nearby riverwood. I pulled out my bow and on my second shot scored a hit as the dragon flew over my head. Now that he knows im there he starts doing flybys roasting me with his fire breath, i stood my ground and kept unleashing arrows as he flew over my head and eventually he crashes down behind me so i pull out my sword and board and dodge his jaws and bring him down in a couple moves and pull of a finishing move. it was pretty epic and i finally felt that I got a really good dragon fight. it was fluid, realistic and fun. The sad part is it happens now on my 5th playthrough....

I walked into Whiterun the other day and three dragons decided to lay siege to the city. One of them was spittin' lightning bolts. Sadly, I did not survive.

(Yes, I'm using the Deadly Dragons mod.)
