Post » Tue May 10, 2011 4:16 pm

So, I was walking around the Wasteland, And then I saw a... a Crashed motorcycle and the motorists body still had the helmet on....

I felt a bit sad when I saw this.

When I come across a room with a locked door where someone obviously was hiding from something and they died while waiting for it to be safe again.

I feel like I find this exact scenario in every explorable locations there is
Still have the whole Pitt factory episode burned into my mind!

I also think it's annoying when Yeast appears the same size as a sack, and I accidentally pick it up instead of looting <_<

But, I found something pretty sad, I was reading the terminal in Black Mountain and people got stuck in the Radio Building or something like that..

Came across a brahmin farm, a boy's parents had become feral ghouls from radiation poisoning, and he went mad after he had to kill them. He was afraid his cows were going to eat him, so he locked himself in his house and lit it on fire.

That highwayman was just a throwback to FO2.

An awesome one at that.

EDIT: If it had "That Gun!" in the truck however...

That was one of them. However I have found a few of these scattered around. There is enough stuff to help you make up a back story for the corpse.

Came across a brahmin farm, a boy's parents had become feral ghouls from radiation poisoning, and he went mad after he had to kill them. He was afraid his cows were going to eat him, so he locked himself in his house and lit it on fire.

I actually teared up after I found all the notes. Especially when you see the corpses.

I think I may have walked by this place, But it sounds really sad.. :sadvaultboy:

Another thing I found sad was NCR troopers with their limbs blown off, But were still alive.

It made me teary.

I kept hearing one say "Kill me..."

I think Obsidian messed up on that part. Because if we preform a mercy kill, NCR goes hostile. Gee, Pardon me for thinking an NCR trooper with no arms or legs groaning 'kill me' is considered wrong in your eyes.

The saddest thing I saw in New Vegas was in Vault 22. The one Spore creature that was the size of a child in the room with the baby crib, suggesting that the two were one in the same. I'd hate to imagine a child being consumed by those spores, only for me to have to blow it away to keep it from killing me.

"Species: Beauveria Mordicana

An entomopathogenic fungus, B. Mordicana has been developed to colonize the bodies of most common pests.
Once it has fully colonized a host body, the host technically dies, but the body continues to move by means of the fungal colony within it.
In this manner the fungus moves amongst its prey, occasionally spraying spores in a radius around the host body, infecting all who come near it.
Its drawbacks include the time it takes to kill prey (10-20 days) and its limited effectiveness when dealing with unsocial pests."

I actually sniped them from a distance, but I have performed the mercy killing from closer. NCR doesn't itself turn hostile, just the other injured troopers.

I felt really bad when I had to shoot up a coyote den mother and her pups. :(

I hope someone makes a realistic wildlife mod soon. I don't think coyote pups should instinctively kamikaze a heavily armed threat :spotted owl:
