I used to run up to the giants to get smacked into the stratosphere too all to the delight of my 5 year old, but I play on PC. That wasn't a PS3 thing alone...

PS3 version seems cursed at the moment, only Bethesda can un-curse it!

I wonder which would've pissed people off more, the current situation, or delaying of PS3 release until the issues were resolved?

It's simply karma and comeuppance for Sony suing their customers and acting like tantruming corporate [censored]s.

The current situation because it cost people $60. Delaying or not releasing the PS3 version would have costed people $0.

I'm starting to think it would have been easier to just release Skyrim on Xbox 360 and PC.

The problem is that these aren't issues that can be resolved easily, if at all. The problem is the PS3's poor hardware.

I haven't had lag issues. But I agree with IGN and others. When you consider what went into this game, yes, it's a mess. The game has serious issues.

People should be fired for some of the decisions that were made for this game. Complete morons working behind the scenes.

It's almost as if they got a bunch of RPG illiterate old farts to sit around a table and take shots in the dark on what a wiz kid would like to see in a role-playing game.

The artists are truely incredible. But it all ends there.

That sounds like the right answer now, but I'd bet my life on the [censored]ing that would have come from the PS3 community if they had edelayed it.

First of all, this is not the issue at hand. There are literally THOUSANDS of threads going "this is not an RPG!" everyday. Go whine there.

BUT, as much as I hate to admit it, I must agree to one thing: their secretive strategy of releasing as little as possible has SERIOUSLY pissed people off, and look what it gave: thousands of people whining about bugs.

And you know what the worse in all is? I have an unpatched game. Not even the day 1 patch. And besides the occasionnal crash or slight lag, I have literally NO problem

(and BTW, besides a FEW MMOs that got it right, this is the most true-to-RPG-gaming game made in the last few years. deal with it)

When will all of u understand that blaming this on the ps3 is completely illogical? If you followed through with that dumb theory any game company could release a shoddy game on one system and blame it on the systen when releasing a perfectly fine version on another console.

What further invalidates said theory is the fact that tons of cross platform games run fine or even
better on the ps3.

Even some games with extra care look and play better on the ps3 a la mass effect 2. It's not a matter of hardware, it's a matter or talent, effort, time, and resources.

So please stop now cuz the level of ur stupidity and stubbornness is off the charts.

That's a great question. I'm guessing they'd be failry equal, but if I had to bet I'd choose a delayed release.

wouldn't have pissed me off at all. I would have gotten it for the pc or 360

Now what makes me mad is having the choice of platform but not being made aware of the serious flaws of one version by the developers.

I have 3 seperate games on ps3

40 hrs in, 8mb+ , level 30 lag whenever I sprint in overworld, and sometimes 1 frame per 3-5 seconds

8 hrs in, 4mb, level 13 runs pretty smooth little lag in places like whiterun
note: I purposely avoid item hoarding, and traveling to unnecessary places by using fast travel or horse and carriage which I recommend for anyone. Playing on ps3

and my live in gfs who uses a seperate account
40 hours; 6+ mb, level 22, runs OK but gets that constant semi lag skipping in the overoworld

All on 120gb ps3 slim

Damned if you do, damned if you don't I'm afraid.

They have legitimate gripes at the moment (which is a shame, as they aren't getting to enjoy a game that has proven to me to be awesome on the PC and from what I have seen pretty damn awesome on the 360), but delay the game and the same people would probably be complaining about how Bethesda and the industry are neglecting players and showing contempt for the Ps3.

Not trolling. I own a PS3 and not an xbox (for the exclusives, mainly). The problem is there whether or not you want to acknowledge it. The PS3 simply has less RAM than a good calculator, these days. That causes problems in a game like Skyrim.

Cuttlefish

or there is options c:

Bethesda do what every other talented game developers do and invest in more resources for the ps3 during development to ensure a good version

it's not like they're giving the game to us for free

then rework the game for the system, there are tons of games for the ps3 that don't get gimped because of less ram. Code can always be changed. It's not a copy and paste job it takes critical thinking, translation, and troubleshooting

Bethesda is not the first developer to have to deal with it. They are the first to epically fail such a big release
