The Small details that make you Laugh

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 3:10 pm

Ive seen a few site which have been set up to get a giggle or two out of us if you seen them.

Here is 2 , would love to hear of others ppl have seen

1. One of the old shacks ( maybe one of the Mining ones) up against a canyon wall.
Inside you find a table with a skeleton next to it , on the table is a card game (poker).
the side with the skeleton his card has 5 Kings of dimonds (I think) :).

2. I was doing the mission for the sniper , finding out about his wive.
after hearing different storys about the sniper , one beening him having a argument with his wive I went into his room.
I think I found a laz gun in there and then I saw the semi body shape of a person burn on the floor and half covered over by paper.
Oh how the plot thiken for me , did he killer ??
in the end he didnt , and you will see other marks in other motel rooms also suggesting different thing too.

Love the details like these guys , hats off to you :)

... ever played Fallout 3? It's loaded with that kind of details and eastereggs. I actually miss them in NV, but it's a Bethesda trademark. No one do it like they do...

The janitor-bot in the Sunstet Sarsaprilla factory. Oh how I love that guy.

The dead prospector in Devil's Gulch (I think, Devil's something anyway, far E of Bitter Springs), wonder what he was celebrating...

Hell's Motel, if only 'cause the layout is so similar to My Megaton House...

Yeah! And the gardengnome-chessboard, the biker in the sewers that hit the roof, the coupled, drunken teddybears, the...

Oh, this is the FONV-forum...

Admitted, I'm not that far into NV yet to make sure statements about the content, but I allways praised Bethesda for their ability to adapt craziness and queer humor into their gameworlds without making them a Monty Python-episode... (Love Monty Python, though... Hope you get the point...)

I'm sure there's some funny stuff in NV too, but I'm yet to find it.

That really bugged me in New Vegas. In Fallout 3 it seemed like every skeleton had a story, In Fallout New Vegas there was only a few instances.

You're right, it made it feel much more like a real world.

One of the saddest moments for me in FO3 was finding a Pulowski Personal Preservation shelter with a single skeleton in it with a .32 pistol in his hand.

What a brilliant little moment that says so much about so many things (the effectiveness of the shelters, how people coped with the war, heck even the fact that an "average" person would be carrying a pistol).

When Cannibal Johnson talked about his times in Navarro and a funny story about the time his Drill Sgt yelled and went on a long rant at some poor recruit who forgot his armor. :P

But you Fallout 3 lovers wouldn't know anything about that :shifty:

I guess the funny stuff in NV is mostly replaced with references to earlier FO games, I guess. The Wild Wasteland thing also provides some funny stuff.

This. I miss those things so much, really made Fallout 3 seem "real."

In New Vegas, I found Fisto to be hilarious for obvious reasons.

It's so fun to hit people with a memories bus :disguise:

I laughed so hard when I found him in FO2.

The one I thought was hilarious was how one of the super mutants wanted Raul to fix his car but Raul said he didn't know how to do that. The super mutant came back with some gas to see if that would help. As it turns out, the super mutants car was one of the hand held toy cars!

Well I just had Moose Antlers/Spawn wings spring from my back while shooting Dinner Bell in third person mode. Took a pic of it with a save, once I charge my cam I'll have to post it.

The one that recently made me laugh was when talking to Philippe in the Gourmand Kitchen, and if you have a high Med skill you can psycho-anolyze his past about his parents and siblings.

He says, "And then there was my brother! ... Oh my god I can't be they did that to me..." You have to hear it for yourself, the way he says it is hilarious.

Going past one of the prosttutes outside of Gomorrah with Rex in tow and she says: "... I don't think that's what they mean by doggy style." Yeah... :P

Can't remember the exact writing but on some poster somewhere someone writes "Let it all end!" and underneath someone else has written "Stop your whining" or something like that.

There are loads of references and jokes FO:NV. I think they are a little more subtle than F3 though and some of them are things you would only get if you played old school fallout games.

If you're a fan of 50's or 60's American music you would realise that almost every quest is a reference to a song.

EDIT: Oh yeah and the reference to there distaste or the latest Indiana Jones flick is totally shared.

Gods, I laughed at the Sacrificial Chamber in Vault 11 (and eventualy the text on the mainframe terminal) ^^
Quite a few of the Wild Wasteland encounters are precious. *Aroo!*.
