Bottom left corner... The upside "t" shaped structure with the fence around it...?

In the Avault Podcast which has a new interview with Chris Avellone, he mentions that there is a great moment where, right as night starts to fall, if you go and visit your grave shortly after leaving Doc Mitchell, you can see the lights of Vegas glowing off in the distance past your grave.

In the AVault podcast, Chris Avellone actually describes what he considers the "stepping out into the wasteland," big awe moment.

"Yeah, as soon as you step out of the Doctors shack where you've been recuperation, the first view of the Mojave is pretty sweet. The first big reveal, though, is actually a little bit more subtle, and it kind of crept up on me. When you go visit your grave site, in the town where you wake up at, if you go up to the grave as it sort of starts going towards evening, if you're examining your grave and you suddenly look up right as night falls, you can see the lights of Vegas just beyond your grave, and that view is pretty awesome."

*edit* Dang it Leventa, you ninja'd me, after I spent all that time transcribing exactly what Chris was saying. :P

Ehh....it's not as good as FO3 but it's decent.

Yeah, I attribute that to the fact that you aren't on a hillside; your FOV is limited compared to FO3.

I still appreciate the amount of detail in this one though :D

But one thing, will the game tell us where we got shot? Cause I REALLY don't want it to be a vague and barely findable area.

Well, I've saw the opening when it was leaked, and it really looks like they just dig a hole at the Goodsprings cemetery, shoot you in the head, then bury you. And if you do the training quests with Sunny Smiles, when she shows you how to make healing powder you need to get one of the ingredients from the cemetery (I think, pretty sure). Plus I doubt it'd be very hard to find in Goodsprings anyway. :P

comparing the geck image to the video, Docs house is inside the middle cyan circle, it's the very light coloured square in the bottom left of that circle. (quite large, you can't miss it) The view from there (facing NE) corresponds exactly with the "you've discovered Goodsprings video".

I'm thinking something along the lines of the sceen out of Goodfellas where Pesci is stabbing that guy in the trunk of the car and then we get the immortal line "Ever since I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster." Maybe that opening takes place on a desolate hill where we can get a good view of the New Vegas lights in the distance.

Except... it sounds like you're the one in the 'trunk'. So, maybe this is a terrible idea.

right when I read that the music from the movie started playing in my head

Leaving Doc Mitchel's house. Looking out over the rolling sands in the sunset of the desert, with New Vegas in the backround.

Seriously, if I ever met a man who could remove two slugs from my brain/head, and then fix me up with no lasting brain damage, or even leaving a scar, I'd consider him the exact opposite of boring.

Leaving Doc Mitchell's house seems the most probable.
