When you leave Goodsprings for the 1st time you'll be given the option like in Fallout 3 to do any final changes to your character. I plan on making a save before that point so I don't have to worry about going the tutorial over again. Although the Tutorial is much shorter then it was in Fallout 3
From what they revealed of the story so far (the way the game begins specifically), I would imagine that the "Grand Revealing" will take place first. Maybe a camera flyby of some spiffy looking area. Otherwise it will be you diggin your way to freedom and something tells me that will not be much of a "moment" at all.
I'm thinking something along the lines of the sceen out of Goodfellas where Pesci is stabbing that guy in the trunk of the car and then we get the immortal line "Ever since I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster." Maybe that opening takes place on a desolate hill where we can get a good view of the New Vegas lights in the distance.
Except... it sounds like you're the one in the 'trunk'. So, maybe this is a terrible idea.
I'm guessing it'll just be going outside and looking out over the vast expanse of the desert stretching off in every direction, with ruined highways and faded grandeur in the distance while the mountains tower over the horizon.
Other than when you step out of the doc's house, the first epic screen shot will be when you first enter the Vegas strip area with all the lights, glizz, etc. (If there's an epic screen shot at all in FONV.)
