The Sun... it never comes!

Well, it comes up at like 7, but then it gets dark at like 9 AM...

Wtf?

Did you set ipresetinterval=0? Did you change the timescale? Both of those things can cause a messup of time in your game.

No.

As this is the first time since release I've heard of this problem yes mate.

Also, do you run a complete clean install of the game, without any fancy addon dlls or tweaks, mods, or special settings in your gpu settings? are you playing a legit version of the game fully patched, and tried verifying your game integrity if so?

Yes, legit and fully patched.

I do have some .ini tweaks and textures, but why would that cause this? I'll remove them if need be. No special GPU settings. I'll verify cache and post results.

Edit: Steam downloaded something that was only 50 bytes. About to test and see if that fixed it.

Edit 2: Nope. Waited 24 hours from 11:21 AM and the weather didn't change at all.

The way you say it seems to mean that you have day from 7am to 9am and after that it's night, so, yes, it would be useful.

I'm uploading three shots right now. And now it's dark 24/7.

I took shots at 9:17 AM, 12:20 PM, and 4:21 PM.

Interesting. If you saved your .ini before tweaking it, maybe you should put it back in place, remove all the things you've added to the game, etc. and see what happens. Or you reinstall the game from the disk.

Have you modified your timescale? Messed around with forcing the weather? Set the time using the GameHour/GameDay commands? Modified your INI?

Does it happen on a new game?

Alright, I'll try resetting the inis first.

Don't just reset. Actually delete all ini files in your docs/skyrim folder wherever that may be, and delete them from your install folder.

Ensure you have zero mods installed or activated to.

I let the game generate new .inis. Nothing.

Edit: I deleted them from docs/skyrim. Where are they in the install folder?

And to delete the mods should I just delete the Data file and let Steam DL a new one? Should I try running through the normal launcher instead of the 4GB launcher (didn't change anything though).

Lol wow I knew you had something on that wasn't stock :P

Delete and disable anything, and run the game at stock settings as though it's a fresh install.

Where steam is installed, steamapps/skyrim.

This will fix the problem. Promise.

Afterwards, add your bits and bobs one by one, see which caused the problem.

No to all of the first 4 except modified the .ini, but now it's fresh.

The odd thing is that it just randomly started; I hadn't installed anything new.

Best bet would be to stay up through the night on a new character. If it's normal it's a bugged save, if it too is broken then it's a mod.

I'll try it later (not home now).

I also have another character (not played since 11-22), so I'll give him a try too.

If it's fine on the new character I'll put my .ini tweaks bAck in

Where was this screen taken? I know that it can be bright outside but when you get somewhere close like the Shrine of Boethia, it gets dark as heck.

...Shrine of Boethiah.

I'll load it up now and test another location.
