The WORST times in which you ran out of arrows...

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 12:18 am

So, yeah. What are your stories of when you ran out of arrows? For those of us who're archers anyway. ;)

I was doing a nasty battle in the Main Quest and ran out of arrows. Couldn't make it through the fight, died, had to reload.

Again, just tonight, ran out of arrows while taking on SIXTEEN Draugr all at once!!! Although they kept on "popping" (coming out of their tombs, crypt things) after each would die. I had three or four of the upper level Draugr coming at me at once. Good thing I'm at Level 37 with an Archery skill of 100!!! I had to keep looting the dead Draugr for 2 arrows here, on arrow here, 3 here, etc, as I have the 'Huntsman' Perk. ;)

Run out of arrows?

Never.

I keep all arrows I find on the enemy and stockpile them also picking up arrows I missed the target with. I have about 200 druegar arrows 60 glass arrows 300 iron arrows and misc other arrows I've picked up. (enemies, stealing, just lying around in a cave/dungeon/house) I have so many arrows that I don't know what to do with them all ;P

Never purchased arrows before either.

Wait, you can run out of arrows? I sell them because I have too many and it just fills up my weapon inventory with all the varieties I have. I tried to use them but I end up just picking half of them back up.

At last count I had about 1200 arrows. About 540 Ancient Nord, 100+ on Daedric, Ebony, Glass, Elvish, Dwarven, and Orcish. To answer the OP's question, i've never run into that issue. I don't think it would have been a problem with my build as archery was my secondary offensive skill set. I used it mainly to assassinate or soften targets at range.

Got to agree with everyone else. I haven't ran out of arrows since I had the first 20 or so from escaping Helgen the first time and was getting used to the new archery system.

Weird, I haven't made an archer yet. I'll have to do that soon.

EDIT: If you run out of arrows, just start checking people's knees.

running away from 3steel armored hired thugs on my lvl3, climbed some of the Whiterun walls and had about 20 iron arrows enough to put 1 of the thugs on his 60% :-\

Back when I was an adventurer, I came across a Bandit Chief named Moren. We duelled for a good forty five minutes, I reckon. He got a good blow on me, and my sword went flying. I was now weaponless. I was stuck with my bow, but no arrows. This was bad. I got slashed a few times and took some damage. I took off running, but they were chasing me. I went down a rock and ran across a platform. If I had any arrows, I could have killed the bandits chasing after me.Then all of a sudden, I felt a sharp pain in my knee. I look down and find an arrow lodged right in my kneecap. I went blind for about two seconds as the searing pain echoed across my entire body. I felt like this was the end. The bandit chief hurried over to deal the killing blow. Knowing I was a dead man, I angrily thrusted the arrow out of me knee and stabbed the chief in the neck three times. His wretched life ended in my blood soaked hands. To this day, I have the scars on my chest and I walk with a slight limp. If I had an arrow, this could have been avoided. But no matter. I serve my hold as a guard with honor.

Is it wrong that I enjoy a modern rendition of nazi zombies? I like horde based games.

You're serious?

My Bosmer has 800 Iron Arrows, and 900 Ancient Nord Arrows. I can hardly give these things away.

I've never run out either, I can't conceive of such a thing as I'm always picking them up off bandits. I've never had to buy any, and since they're weightless I carry all the ones I have instead of carrying 70 or 80 and leaving the rest at home.

So much for all the pre release hype about how arrows are going to be scarce and expensive.

I ran out of them whilst fighting an elder dragon once..........ran to nearest village and let the guards kill him. then went on spending spree.

I dont keep any arrows less than dwarvern, clutters up inventory too much

Hey, you're right!!! I thought that since they were going to dramatically increase the power of bows in Skyrim that they were going to make arrows harder to come by. What happened to this?
