they learned how to open doors!

You Da Man! I always get shredded into hamburger when I try to run from them..

Having 10 endurance and high agility may have had something to do with it though. I think it got in a fight with a Cazador and they just sort of cancelled each other out....

You spent the night with it, the least you could do is offer it breakfast.

So I just snuck my way carefully around a deathclaw nest, went into a safe shack (harper's) to sleep.

Wake up to a deathclaw standing over me looking rather irritated at me. Apparently I am a VERY heavy sleeper.

Is that a bug? do all enemies ignore "does not open doors" flag now?

Also, what's the best way for a level 5 character to fight a deathclaw in a room so small both of you barely fit?

When I read this, all I could think is that I'd wished I'd been a fly on the wall and seen your face. Wow. :)

only some deathclaws are intelligent, and they were more than likely wiped out in the enclave assault of v13. almost all deathclaws are infact feral but possess ridiculous hunting instincts. originally they were supposed to be stealthy but they were deemed to be too powerful, so i guess they just gave them a lot of health and armor instead, which makes a little sense. Though as terrifying as death claws are, you don't get the same feeling of "OMFG WTF" as you do in the originals when the deathclaw gets to attack you 6 times in a turn.

I've had the same thing happen w/ a group of 4 golden geckos in Nipton. Then again, I also have a cat in RL who knows how to turn doorknobs, so I suppose it's not too far fetched.

What a rude awakening.

I have to say that I would not hit snooze if I had a Deathclaw Alarm Clock.

Interesting. 120 hrs into the game I have (thankfully) not encountered this particular situation. It would fit in with Fallout lore however, as Deathclaws are supposed to be highly intelligent. That being said, I cannot think of anything more terrifying than to wake up with a Deathclaw standing over me.. :o

If you have high charisma you can try charming it to death.

If you have the Animal Friend perk, you get to pat the deathclaw on its head and call it a Good Boy, and then send it out after the newspaper, in which you will frantically jump out of the nearest window(or create one, if necessary), before the deathclaw remembers what it is. :P

had this happen too me awhile ago, i am running a few mods, i took care of it with a modded C-10 canister rifle, re-modified to shoot Tesla projectiles @ 210 damage lol.

on vanilla umm AMR vats head shot followed by a non vats head shot might work - or a Gauss rifle and hope for a crit hit?

without those maybe some explosive or your probably screwed...
