just remembered another trick...if you're looking for a certain enchantment go to a blacksmith like adrienne (outdoors) and save your game. check her inventory for enchanted items and if she doesnt have what you want then kill her and reload your save. her inventory should now have different items...rinse and repeat until you find what you seek ;)

Up to 71. Added a bunch more, so people may want to see the "improved" list. Hope it helps.

Horses can jump and rear????

Dang it, I'm so tired of being stupid to this game. What button(s) do this?

Also, does rearing attack wolves?

the jump button :P

the same button that makes your guy jump makes your horse jump...the rear is done by hitting jump when not moving but does nothing useful

Might want to mention that the Vampire + Necromage thing makes Steady Hand bugged. Get Steady Hand first, then Necromage, then all the other perks you want.

LOL. Y button. I never thought to use it while on a horse. Going to play tonight, for sure.

I'm adding a contribution to the list. I didn't see it, so here's the "infinite arrow" tip:
To get a good number of arrows (and save gold), head to Whiterun's Dragonreach porch about 8am/pm. You'll see an archer practicing. Sneak up and pickpocket the guard and add the arrow (only 1 is needed) you want more of. Close out. Return the next day (sometimes it takes 3 days) at 8am. The archer will be shooting the arrows you gave him. Stand by the target and take until he's done practicing. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat...
:P

I can't thank, enough, for the poster who shared this. I know some think it's "common knowledge", but it wasn't for me. I've over 300 daedric arrows because of this tip, so to that poster... *SMOOCH*

Sorry for the drool.

And the tongue.

I'm excited. ;)

I knew you could move them, but never thought of TKing them. One time for poops and giggles I set up a row of like 10 bear traps and then lured a bandit through them. Died by bear trap. They should have a killcam for that...

I just recently had my horse shot out from under me. Didn't know that could happen!

Bandits were pelting me with arrows, I was trying to escape when suddenly I was watching the slow-mo animation of falling. My character got up, I looked over and sure enough, my horse was dead a short distance away.

Brilliant!

this is an excellent thread, even at several hundred hours of gameplay time I learned a couple of things. just a couple of comments, OP.

25) The wardrobes in your room at the college of Winterhold are safe storage containers. The barrels are NOT. This ‘house’ is free, and available at the start of the game.

all wardrobes, dressers, and end tables in the game are non-respawning containers, so you can essentially make any place in the world your home as long as you only place things in these containers! beware other containers though like sacks, barrels, and apothecary satchels etc.

52) “shield bashing” with a torch sets the target on fire. Shield bash perks don’t affect it (neither do fire… “burning” damage is a set amount).

did you know that the burning damage inflicted with the torch contributes towards your destruction skill?

61) The difference between a Legendary Steel Sword and a Legendary Daedric Sword at 100 one handed and 5/5 armsman is 18 damage. That's 4 perks, for 18 damage. Don't take smithing perks for weapon damage. Also, a hunting bow out damages a Deadric bow by quite a bit, since it fires much faster. That's why Bound Bow is the best DPS bow in the game. It shoots MUCH MUCH faster (I've figured it to about 3-1 with quick shot).

this is incorrect - a daedric bow can match the DPS of a hunting bow by letting go of the trigger after the same amount of time a fully drawn hunting bow would take. this will cause the arrow to have a similar trajectory and damage to an arrow from the hunting bow. all a heavier bow does is give you the option of drawing the bow further and placing more powerful shots. obviously taking half-drawn shots with a daedric bow takes more discipline than always fully drawing the hunting bow, but with practice heavier bows are far more versatile weapons. also, the bound bow is the highest DPS weapon at the beginning of the game, but even with mystic binding it cannot match the DPS of legendary smithed bows since it itself cannot be tempered.

**UPDATED** 64 things now.
Well done. :tops: That must have been taken a while. The one that was new to me was the sphere arrow. Is it just a dwarven arrow with a unique name or something?

I'm more into the lore than the gameplay mechanics so I don't see how I SHOULD know this. I hate that these points are more important than the TES lore and this just shows through all the ridiculous lore-breaking mods that are made.
/rant-ish

Lots of good points, but the title annoys me as I refuse to call myself something below a "regular Skyrimmer".

54) Hitting the jump button on a horse makes them jump. When they aren't moving they "rear up."

Oh. My. God.

5) Save. Punch a merchant. Reload. Their inventory (including cash) is reset now.

I'm going to have that made into a bumper sticker methinks....

Wow... TK works too? I've only got that on one character, so I never tried it. Looks like i"ll need to update AGAIN later. :)

Also, they're good tips. Of COURSE I'm gonna include them. Glad you like the list. I answered a LOT of questions to compile it.
Might want to mention that the Vampire + Necromage thing makes Steady Hand bugged. Get Steady Hand first, then Necromage, then all the other perks you want.

Well, the first perk is perfectly safe, it's only when you 2/2. (though it's affected, so it's 25% slower. Might throw some people off.) If someone clicked through to the thread with the affected perks, they'd know this. :)

Perhaps deadric could. I've never tried "half shots"... never occurred to me.

However, this is referring to "real" stuff, not glitching your smithing, enchanting and alchemy up to insane levels.

I'm not sure if you're talking about just the "standard" loop (which is perfectly OK in my book) to use, but WITH QUICKSHOT a Bound Bow fires about 3 shots per single daedric shot. I"ll definitely recheck some things, but unless you're using max power enchants (with the aspect of terror) I'm nearly positive daedric can't get to 3x Bound Bow damage "legitly". You are "correct" though, that by glitching it could easily surpass the damage with enough smithing. That said, you could just "super' enchant some archery gear for the same effect (and BBow would also benefit).

Worth mentioning is that a BBow in any case is the (far) better choice, since you CAN'T fire 3 daedric shots with any kind of damage as quickly as a full charged BBow shot. Unless you're fighting something with huge HP (lookin at you Krosis) BBow will take out more targets faster. I'll check again with full powered V/N + destruction perk enchants, and highest smithing obtainable v BBow, but I'm still pretty sure the BBow reigns supreme. You know, I take it back. I bet you're correct. Double enchants is another 70 damage... I'll check, but you might just be right about this. :P I'll leave it in for posterity however.

I knew about the torch thing. There's some CRAZY ways to level destruction. Like standing in a blacksmiths forge for example. :)

I did NOT however, know that all dressers end tables and wardrobes are safe storage. Thanks for that!

No, it looks totally (well sorta) different too. DIfferent arrow head, and it's shorter. It "fits" inside the crossbow the sphere's use. Also, dwarven arrows have base 14 damage, this is like an ebony arrow (20) and available at the very start. (mostly).

There's also the giant club, but that weapon is just too silly to let a follower use (excepting Cicero). That's why I didn't mention it. :)
