Well the good news is... we're working on new DLC content.

260 hours on my main character, and he's still finding new locations. And that's with only doing the main story and 2 guilds. He fast travels about 1/4 of the time, so yeah, I'm not experiencing any shortage of content.

Oblivion had 5.9 gigs of content, this game had 3.8, so I agree there definately could have been MucH more content and meat in the game, especially in the guild quest lines and the civil war, but i think there is still quite a bit non the less, but seriously, 3.8 gigs? I will never understand that pathetic amount of content. Some arcade games have more. And its not even the graphics or the engine or the draw distance that needs to be better, they could have had that extra 2.1 gigs used for more random encounters, more enemies filling those HUGE empty spots in the game with no enemies....and generally adding more depth to characters and followers....

This might help you understand:

Improved compression and coding reduces file size. Judging the relative content of games by the size of the files is not an accurate assessment method, particularly when those games are years apart.

He also has his numbers wrong, Skyrim is 6 gb compared to Oblivion's 4,9 gb...so not only are numbers not an accurate method, they are even less so when being pulled out of your...

There are a lot of content and quests, but most of them have been reduced to "fetch this" or "kill that" with little to no story behind them. I lost my sword, go get it for me. That bandit chief is a meanie, go kill him for me.

So what the game really needs is more story. More reason for me to want to care.

Exactly.

I am so tired of the people here going on about "did you raid every dungeon? did you do every quest in every town" HERP DERP.

My GOD. People don't g e t i t a t a l l. You can cram 400 hours of crap to do but if it's all so repeatitive and typical... see where I am going with this?

Annoys the crap out of me. The faction questlines are so short. Thieves was medium long, and the College was close. But just... wow. Shocked me really. I was just messing with the MQ and went to look at how far I was in it, and already was half way. Go here.. talk to this person... COMPLETED. ... .. . really??

Unlike Oblivion and Morrowind, many of Skyrim's quests start when you discover a dungeon.
The quest-givers or triggers are at the entrances or just inside certain dungeons. You will discover lots of these if you just explore random locations.

If you only follow the guilds and the town npc quests you will miss out on a lot.

Some side quests are triggered through dungeons, but most of the MQ and Guilds are short.

Granted, I am sick how much the game is funneling me into dungeons. If I have to fight another Draugr I will scream.

Some of the side quests are better then the guild questlines. Like the Forsworn Conspiracy. Now that was fun.

When I started playing Skyrim I thought it was a really great game, and that opinion has changed for me after I reached higherlvl's. The reason for this is the lack of content, I'm at lvl 51 now, got all perks I want, done all quests except college since my char isn't a caster, so only thing left now is to run around and do the boring repeteabel ones. I think it's sad that Bethesda couldn't manage to get enough content all the way up to endlvl, since the graphics and many other things are really great. But as it is now where you are finished with it around lvl 50 if you play a lot like I do, then it's just a waste of money buying it.

Mods!!! :D

I would recommend to those feeling bored with the game after level 40 or 50 to make a new character.

The way the game is designed, your character will likely fulfill most of your Skill Perk Goals by then and you've already reached the cap for gear (Ebony, etc). I look at the Perk Trees as another exploration aspect of the game. If one sticks with a character past level 40 you run the risk of choosing Perks outside your initial character build which can lead to a "Jack of all trades" feeling.

This game was intended to be very replayable. So make a new character with a totally different Build, set the Difficulty to Master and start exploring. I find that the exterior locations and caves are still fun as long as they are challenging, so I also strongly recommend mods that increase the difficulty in various ways. When the game is difficult, any mundane encounter can become exciting again.

Personally I had lots of fun with the game. I however am in a similar state of mind now, for possibly different reasons.

My frustration centers mostly on the CK. Specifically, the virtual absence of necessary examples on syntax use for the new scripting language has completely sapped my interest in modding and Skyrim in general. I can’t even bring myself to play anymore.

To me, this has nothing to do with a test of intelligence, trying to decipher the new language. I know several languages, and have experience with the object oriented format.

This is more anologous to attempting to decipher a foreign language without a reference, with no “Rosetta Stone.”

It has NOTHING to do with intelligence, just meticulous and needlessly frustrating GUESS WORK. That to me just isn’t fun at all.

I hope the OP is trolling, otherwise his argument makes him look kind of... well, dumb, guess there isnt a kinder way to put it. :S

I have 650 hours total play time over three characters. Even I didn't know there was an archery challenge until a week ago.

If you hate exploring cave, exploring city, i think you better play another RPG game

Skyrim is all about EXPLORING

if you feels like "Whiterun is same as Solitude, has a Jarl, has a Housecarl, has a house"

THEN YOU PLAY SKYRIM JUST RUSH THROUGH MAIN STORY AND END IT

i can do that in 1 day dude

but unfortunately, i left the MQ and EXPLORE the beautiful world of skyrim, i played it more than 200++ hours now

Notes:DB quests are far more better than MQ. FACT!

Are you sure you've found everything? There's plenty of content for me at least. Although it would be nice if there were some more quests/storylines that only opened up to the player when they reach a certain level or meet certain requirements, e.g. marriage, own a house/horse, etc.

And as far as I can tell TES games are about making your own content and entertainment. Beth merely provides you with the tools (massive game world to explore, almost endless character possibilities, etc.) to go off and have your own adventure by yourself.

Well the good news is... we're working on new DLC content.
Hoping there's news soon on that!

Back to the main topic, I'm fine with the content; although I do agree with the comment on the too many Draugrs.

i do not, nor, have i ever, played TES simply to explore a new cave or go fetch another item or kill another enemy.

the lack of meaningful depth and content is obvious to many.
