Is this a refference? Or just Coincedence

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 10:29 pm

When I saw this in Skyrim, It instantly reminded me of the top of Ironforge in WoW

Anyone else see the resemblance/Know if it was a reference?

Ah ok, so WoW invented flags then? I don't really get what the coincidence would be.

The flag + bones thins has been around for years, I remember it from games 10 or fifteen years ago, and probably before that in PnP etc. games...

Maybe it's a reference to something else, and WoW used it to reference the same thing.

There's plenty of references in WoW.

I seriously doubt it's meant as a reference, it's more likely they just had the same idea. A skeleton with a flag isn't really that hard to come up with :>

Are you serious? Is it a reference to WoW because they have characters and weapons too?

Who's more immature? The wow "kiddy" who pointed out 2 similar item set ups or those bullying him, so quick to do so they don't actually see the 3 items in each and not providing info on where it may have originally come from, for what purpose.

Anyway neat find, the paladin weapon quest isn't it? Could it be a paladin reference? do they have a long history of dying on snow with a flag and a container?

I know I am quite intelligent, and it is quite clear my complex arguments are too much for you to handle, so you label me a "troll" and use ad hominem arguments. You'd make an excellent politician.

I get a feeling his amount of posts and ranking has more to do with it forum wise. Anyways, it could really be anything, as stated a lot, hundreds of games probably have something like this.

Wasn't this sort of thing in Monkey Island?

I think that must be to what both games refer, then! All three have a flag, and bones, on a piece of land, and Monkey Island came first!

No, it's a coincidence. It's very likely that it was just a soldier dying in combat whi- LIKE A TRUE SON OF SKYRIM! -le raising a flag.

I've never even been on top of Ironforge, even after flying mounts very open in the Vanilla world, so I doubt it's wide-spread enough to warrant a reference.
