This is the year for gaming

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 4:50 am

The following games has gotten a 10/10 review this year:

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword- Gameinformer, IGN hasn't released a score, but says it is "The best Zelda game yet"

Batman: Arkham City- Gameinformer

Uncharted 3- IGN

There have also been so many 9+ games that I don't want to take the time to look for them all.

Many AAA have released this year. Gears of War 3, Dragon Age 2, Battlefield 3, L.A Noire, Dead Space 2, RAGE, and Portal 2 are just a few examples.

On top of it all, Skyrim, Assassins Creed: Revelations, Modern Warfare 3, Saints Row: The third, Need for speed: The Run, and Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary haven't released yet.

What a massive year for gaming.

Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh. Meh to all of those I say. Not the slightest interested in a single one game from that list besides Skyrim. All a bunch of big budget rentals.

exactly how I feel. My friend has Uncharted 3 and says it's great, but I never really got into that series. I was hyped up at first to get UC3 when I saw 10/10 but changed my mind when I remember how much time skyrim will take to complete.

It's been good and is getting better. Too bad Skyrim will steal me from all the other games for a few months.

I'll be spending more on games in the first three months of 2012 than I have all of 2011, but this year was still decent. Skyward Sword is the only game I'm buying this holiday season though.

I know 2 games I'll have for sure MW3 and Skyrim. I was thinking about getting War In The North but the reviews are ugly. And I have interest in some others. Like Batman, Halo anniversary, and Diablo 3.

I wouldn't say its a bad year for games. I've probably bought more games on release day than I have in a while.

I still don't understand how people can think that just one person reviews a game and gives it a 10/10 and it is a must GET!/!?!??!?!?! Seriously numerical scores are the stupidest thing in game journalism and reviewing. There is paid reviews , most likely IGN and other prominent gaming sites are paid for certain review scores.

If I want a good review I want to know what games the reviewer likes , past experience with the series of the possible title they are reviewing and a paragraph or two divulging their opinion. Numbers does [censored] these days in my opinion and is a horrible tool for possible game buyers to use. For example a gundam game gets a bad review like 4/10 and the reviewer says "DON"T BUYZ THIS GAME ITZ svckS" I would not listen to him. If another reviewer went to state that he did not like the game but stated it was like previous gundam games and stated that fans of the previous games might want to pick it up I would respect his opinion.

Just because a game is given a bad score does not mean there is not a player base that may play it ether wise because they like what is in that game.

Been a pretty decent year I guess. Arkham City was fantastic, Rage was fun, Deus Ex: HR was a blast as well. Other than those I haven't liked many other games. Can't wait for Skyrim though, one week left.

Decent year, because of Skyrim, TOR, and Deus Ex. The year for gaming will be when Thief IV and the new Counter-Strike come out.

Most of those games are sequels, some of them almost indistinguishable from the previous game. It'll be a good year for gaming once the industry gets its creativity back, if ever.
