Three months later - are you still playing?

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 12:43 am

I've been playing since the 11th November - how many of you have had it from the first day and are still playing three months later?

I think, three months is a good time for the forums to calm down, because the whiners start to leave and the rest just keeps enjoying the game.

And, yes, I play Skyrim on a daily basis, still haven't finished a single quest-line.

i played 97 hours from launch to christmas, took a break to play Zelda Skyward Sword and Final Fantasy 1 and picked Skyrim back up after 1.4 was released and created a new character which is now 15 hours in. it's just as fun as i remembered and going from warrior to thief has opened a whole new experience. maybe one day i'll start the main quest too, since i still haven't fought a dragon yet.

I have to wonder if the one's who have stopped playing will be in this forum as often, and will even see this thread?

Got it on the night of release and was playing it religiously until 2 weeks ago... when I bought Grand Theft Auto 4 for the first time. Since then, I've played nothing but GTA 4 every day/night, so it's safe to say that Skyrim has been put on hold until I get enough of being a thug in Liberty City. :) That's why games are better than women... they don't care how long you're "away" and they'll always be there for you when you decide to return.

On and Off.

Most of my play time is checking on things IG for Mods I am working on.

I did take a break for a couple weeks there before the CK came out to play more Mount and Blade.

I played the heck out of it for a while, but I've now put it aside for other games. I'll pick it up again when a decent DLC is released. I'll also try out a few quest mods now and then.

Only game I play aside from MvC3 and WipeOut.

I lied, there's a game of Comet Crash in there once in a while.

Yup. I played it a lot in November, but I had played so much that I burnt myself out by early December.

I did not play again a few weeks ago when my soundtrack arrived and hearing the music made me want to play again.

I am really enjoying it and I am hoping that I will be able to complete the MQ this time.

Am I still playing? OMG what kind of question is that? OF COURSE I'M STILL PLAYING!!!!!!!!!

I installed both Morrowind and Oblivion, but I find myself clicking the SKYRIM launcher more often. Well, I played Morrowind for maybe 15 minutes, it was amazing years ago, but omg I'm spoiled by good graphics! LOL

Oblivion, well, I've played that game for over 6000 hours and know it better than any game I've ever played. I know every nook and cranny in OB. However, in Skyrim, I STILL come across surprises, even after 5 characters and 500+ hours of playing! LOL

Played till my save broke last month. RIP Really had a thing going on there - was just turning level 40 when it happened. Now waiting for some good mods to arrive and start playing again in a couple of weeks/month. : )
Passing my time with some EU3 which I just discovered!

I play it in the way I play a GTA game. I run around, doing nothing but just "be in the world". I'm still on my first character and haven't completed the MQ even after ~200 hours, though most everything else [but definitely not all] is done.

Due to the magic system being crap, it really wrecked my initial experience and until there is a good spellmaking mod [or better, if Beth acknowleges and owns up to what so many are telling them, then make it right] I can't bring myself to start a 2nd character. Skyrim's magic system is the Cliff Racer of fundamental gameplay designs.

I picked it up on release and am still playing. Sometimes I take a break for a couple of days before going back. I just picked up Morrowind on the Steam sale, so I've been playing that for the last few days. Now, that I have that one going, I'll probably switch off between the 2 games. I have tons of stuff left to do in Skyrim. I've yet to have a character remotely interested in the political quests. My current character isn't interested in the dragon problem either - she said, upon escaping Helgen, "Go tell the Jarl yourself, I have better things to do". She then proceeded to rob Riverwood blind...

I haven't even gotten around to the MQ on any of my characters. Of course I'm still playing.

Other things I have yet to begin:

1. My full 'kill all' attempt. Gonna need that mod that shuts off essentials soon.
2. My Zombie Town run. Gonna need the eternal zombie mod for that.
3. My Easter Egg and Fun Places run.

Just started my rare book collector run.

It will take a few years to get fully done, and that's before all the extra content that will bubble to the surface. We won't know the exact amount of time necessary to get tired of this game until the first "Skeleton Island" mod appears.

I just started my second character yesterday. Currently hunting in southern skyrim and living off the land and avoiding cities. I am having a good time.
