That's really naive of you to think there will be less DLC's or no more made at all. It's all about the money. They could make more money of the DLC's than the game itself and although they may be a smaller team, the basic structure of the game is there, they only have to add more quests and design a little (by Fallout standards) map. You get just a single person throwing together quests and maps with the G.E.C.K who have next to no experience or training and they aren't getting paid to do it. Put a team together and it doesn't take nearly as much time as you think to spew out little episodes for big bucks.
The chances are a couple of the DLC's were made before the game was even released.

This is a great chance for them to milk as much out of this game as possible and don't think for a second they won't make the most of it.

You should re-read the post, my comments make no assumptions or even suggest that they wouldn't Wan't to make more DLCs, its a matter of resources.

Your suggestion that DLC's are so simple to make is without merit and profoundly un-true, making a DLC requires a team of people and alot of resources and is far more complex than you are trying to suggest. Voice acting, writing, editing, testing, etc, etc, etc all have to be done. If it was as simple as you are trying to suggest, Bethesda could have made a Dozen DLC's for Fallout 3 with the staff they have. We got 5.

If I recall the interviews correctly each DLC team was about 40 people. Even if its half that size, its alot of people, alot of money and not simple to do. I would certainly hope for lots of DLCs, but given that I DO have a wee-tad experience in making games/mods, I'm pretty confident in saying that we will likely get Less than 5, hopefully at least 3. It has nothing to do with a desire to make money, and everything to do with how fast the companies can pump-out DLC products. Do some research, read-up, you'll find as I have that developing even an DLC is Not a 1 or 2 person job.

The Pitt--March 24
Broken Steel--May 5
Point Lookout--June 23

According to Wikia, and thinking back that's bout right, I didnt get Fallout 3 till March The Pitt came out shortly after. Maybe we'll hear something around end of February

I'd expect an announcement in the next couple of weeks, and those names have been trademarked, why the hell would they not be making DLCs for them? Here's hoping for the rest to be similar to Point Lookout in terms of open world play, I'd love to explore part of the Utah wasteland in the Honest Hearts DLC.

I Feel 4/5 DLC is reasonable since they have planned ahead. Also they have got DLC out faster than F3 did. F3 was released in oct. as well and its first dlc was jan 7. FNV beat that table by at least 3 weeks. However they had to work on that massive patch, and that might have taken time away from programing DLC. I feel some or all audio is also done. Veronica's lines for Dead Money were on the disc at least. So I wouldn't be shocked if they have it for the others as well. Also we keep talking about how smaller Obsidian is and forgetting who's publishing. I'm sure as long as they made enough money on NV and it's first dlc Bethesda will happily pass them money to make more money.

Another day, another 24 of hours of nothingness.
Come on now! I'm getting bored with NV! Give us just a peep, it's been almost a month! Throw us a frickin bone here!

I think they don't care about Half-Life anymore.
TF2 and Portal are their new babies and they don't really give a crap about any of the other franchises they have, it even seems like they consider it a chore to care about L4D or HL.

It took six years to release HL2. I wouldn't say they don't care about it. I'd argue they care too much, and won't release it until there is a major leap forward and it is perfect.

Do you guys think we have to complete Dead Money and finish the DLC's in order? I mean, can you skip the content of one or no? Dead Money's dead hard.

You can't just up and leave the Sierre Madre, so unless you made a save before entering you're censoring stuck.

Well the Fallout 3 DLCs had a two-month delay between each of them. Operation: Anchorage came out in January, but The Pitt didn't come out till March. The only DLC that had a one-month delay was Point Lookout, which came out only a month after Broken Steel (BS came out in May, PL came out in June).

So I'd expect late January to be the announcement of the 2nd NV DLC, and February to be the release date. Probably mid-Feb.

Expected Timetable (DLCs may trade places):
February 21st - The Lonesome Road
April 21st - Old World Blues
July 21st - Honest Hearts
September 21st - 6th unknown, final DLC
November 11th - TES V Released

are those the names for the next few dlc's nice but i didn't realise there had been an announcement when was it?

I'd imagine we're getting pretty close if there really is 5 planned.
Could anyone think back to how long the gap between DLCs was when FO3 was out?
I thought we'd be getting an announcement for it perhaps mid January with a release in early to mid February.

Whit Skyrim getting close one might think the Obsidian would feel a bit of pressure to get content out.

I think this is too optimistic - what your not factoring into this equation is the fact that Bethesda had 2 different entire teams making DLCs. The reason they could announce/release them only months apart is because Team 1 worked the Op. Anchorage, then likely Broken Steel while Team 2 made the Pitt then Point Lookout (or something like that). There may even have been 3 teams at play - Bethesda has a much Much larger staff than Obsidian.

That said, I don't think we will be getting 5 DLCs the way we did with Fallout 3 - and the first being exclusive means we are in a new world for DLCs. There may be fewer of them, and more of them may be exclusive from New Vegas - so I would not get my hopes up. This may be the Only DLC for New Vegas for all we know. At best though with one team, its going to be 4-6 months between DLCs IMHO.

Actually, Obsidian has something like 140ish employees and the NV team was a bit bigger than the FO3 team if I recall. They could easily allot 2 40 man teams (with some bethesda guys) while still having enough people working on Dungeon Siege 3.

I thought someone found that Bethesda made a request for trademarks on 4 names. The shelf seems to have room for 4 DLC snowglobes. I'm not sure where people are saying there are going to be 6 or more DLC. It will either be 4 or 5, tops.

As for a timetable, didn't it take about a month and a half for each of the FO3 DLC's to get released?

Obsidian was making Alpha Protocol, Dungeon Siege 3 and Fallout New Vegas at the same time. There are also some canceled projects they were working on, such as the Aliens RPG and Seven Dwarves. And yes, the AP devs could have jumped over to FNV when AP shipped, but it is just as likely that entire team started working on another game that isn't announced yet.
