so i was asking the mother standard questions when i tried pronouncing her childs name as la ah she got rude and said MY KIDS NAME IS LA DASH A... so the kids - in her name actually stood for the word Dash.... I facepalmed so hard inside

I once genuinely met somebody called Michael Hunt. I couldn't believe someone's parents could be either so cruel or so thoughtless.

Once saw a guy's name was Valdemar. I couldn't help but imagine him as some supervillain with henchmen and in an overlord voice going "I am Valdemar! Fear me!" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAFTMDsqCkw&t=15s). Coolest name ever.

Then there was my Highschool principal, whose name was John Johnson. I felt sorry for the guy.

I don't get it.

I feel bad for anyone named after a state.

That Michael Hunt one has nothing on a guy I dealt with on a monthly basis when I worked for the cable company.

The only thing about saying names that sound vulgar out loud is that its kinda a form a censor by-passing, so i'm going to have to hold off and saying his name.

I thought this was a thread about work. Not about names.

At any rate.

I saw a high speed car chase in Jersey City yesterday. Guy in an Expedition was being chased, he tried to make a right hand turn down a one way street and ended up driving down the sidewalk. A very large JC PD truck with a very large push bar made out of plate steel rammed the Expedition, both vehicles ended up going through the wall of a dentist's office. The Expedition surprisingly managed to squeeze it's way out of the dentist's office and made it back onto the street where it was met with a wall of police cars. The very large police truck backed out of the dentist's office and rear-ended the Expedition. Then, the driver was pulled from the Expedition thrown on the ground and beaten by about four Jersey City police officers. Needless to say, that was by far the coolest thing I've ever seen while at work.

Went to school with a guy named Thomas Thomas.

Also, there used to be a guy in the phone book (he got a lot of prank calls) named Harry Paratestes. People can be cruel, I guess.

Among our clients at work we have a John Johnson, Sven Svensson and Adam Adamson. As there are few occasion that call for a man to change his name, it's safe to assume that their parents weren't exactly feeling inspired when picking baby names.

We had a neighbor when I was growing up named Frank Norman Stein.

Once, back in high school, I was talking to Summer Autumn Day during class and the teacher William Williams (we called him Willy) sent me to see the principal Harry Ball.

My drill instructor in basic was big and mean, he looked like a comic book character, but his name was Bobby Bibby.
