Totally screwed

Level 30... and I'm stuck in Ansilvund. I don't know what happened but I'm in the burial chambers and I don't have the key for the door. How the hell did I get in here? I can't get out. My nearest saved level is 20... and I've done so much in the last 10 levels. I'm really screwed. I tried going back and loading from a previous level (20) and it's just not worth it to start that much over again. What happened? Why I'm I stick in the chambers? There's no freaking key and I have no way of picking that lock. WTF!!?!?!?!

Try moving forward in the dungeon, or check the UESP page for help.

What do you mean move forward? On one end is a door I can't pick..the other is a door I don't have a key for. This is a stupid glitch that should have never happened.

"Save often and in multiple slots".

Something I learned in my early days playing adventure games, but it's still good advice.

How about using a little bit of rational instead of making yourself out to be a CoD veteran.

Check the UESP wiki for known bugs on the dungeon or quest you are stuck in. Maybe they have a solution. It may also be the case that you are just overlooking the key...read up where the key should be exactly and go there. If none of that works, considering you are on the console, there is not much you can do. Sorry I feel for you I'm a console player too.

Edit:
  • You will face a locked gate activated by 4 pillars; the combination is located at their feet but well hidden. It is also written in http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Of_Fjori_and_Holgeir, a book found throughout the ruin: Eagle, Snake, Whale, Snake from left to right.
I got that from the link in the OP. Does this sound like it might help you? You should really check that page out.

Seriously, how do you go 10 levels without a single suitable autosave? What about when you entered the dungeon?

Lolz.

Just pop in some MW3. Maybe searching for a key is a bit too difficult.

locked as in requires a key or locked as in you couldn't pick it?

always carry lock picks and ALWAYS save...
the one thing I haven't heard anyone complain about is the saving system in the elder scrolls, so lets embrace it...

Well, whether it was a glitch or whatever, at least you learned the redundant importance of saving your game frequently, and often.

This mentality is about as LCD as what you're implying. If you're not going to help, please go elsewhere. Having a door trigger not fire isn't unheard of in this game.

... you took a missile in the chest ?

10 levels in Skyrim without a save ... this guy should be a Sheogorath worshipper.
I've seen any kind of glitches in Skyrim, including missing staircases in houses and missing walls. Issues like these are easy to fix by reloading a savegame. But if you don't have one ...

I've had one of the claw doors not open before even though put up the correct symbols several times. I had to reload from that spot and it corrected itself and worked. Glitches like this happen occasionally. If nothing else do a manual save at that point and just reload and it may start working just like it did for me. If nothing else you've learned the importance of saving regularly. The save system is a really good one.
