Reviewers are gonna have to start redefining how they score a game. It seems that there are more and more "perfect" games coming out. Its bad enough that anything below a 7 is considered garbage nowadays, by the next gen of consoles there will be nothing but 9's-10's

Yeah, like how on the first release of Black Ops, the PC version got a 9 or something but it was so laggy you couldn't even shoot anything. It wasn't until a week or so they fixed it, but it still didn't seem like such a good game in my opinion.

Played the demos of the first two, but the only impression they gave was a clumsy third person shooter  May get them on a sale or used some day. Or not.

Uncharted 2 is one of the best games I've ever played, it's impossible for me to think of anything wrong with it. If I wasn't getting Skyrim then this would be a day one buy.

I loved the first two, but taking the everyman Nathan Drake on these wacky adventures isn't something I wanna be doing forever. I'll pick Uncharted 3 up eventually once it's $30 or so; I'm not so sure about Golden Abyss.

I'm going to post this when Skyrim comes out. :P

I always thought Uncharted 2 looked like a bad ass movie, wish I had a PS3 to play these games.

I'd be surprised if it got a 10.

I actually did NOT like either of the past two.

So I won't be getting this one.

Really IGN a 10, the game is a 9.3-9.6. At least GI was realistic and gave it a 9.5.

Not to be rude, but what's the .4 difference make? It seems a trivial thing to split hairs like that

10 Lasting Appeal
Single player deserves multiple playthroughs, just like your favorite film. Multiplayer is deep as well as rewarding and will keep you coming back.

Now I'm not sure wheter the multiplayer is superb or not, but if they're using the words "Single player deserves multiple playthroughs" (Reading between the lines, I assume that means there's no way of playing through it "differently" like an RPG?) giving it a 10 for Lasting Appeal is just silly...

That said, I'll most likely get this along with BF3 and Skyrim this fall, though perhaps not on release day.

But it's ok for GI to give Batman a 10?

I can't wait for this to come out in Europe.
U2 was one of the best games ever in my opinion, and this seems to best it.

Yeah, I see no reason to think the singleplayer is dramatically different from the first two games, which I also see no reason to ever play through a second time. Even with multiplayer (which I'd personally never touch), a 10 for lasting appeal seems like a big inflation.

IT depends on the reviewer, while IGN review is a really devoted fan, the other sites, give it a 4/5,9.5, GTTV.com gave it a 9.8, Arkham City had near perfect scores acroos the board, for different reasons. and NO [censored] considered, Batman deserved a 10, UC3 probably does too.

So a game can't tell an absolutely amazing story, presented in such an enjoyable way that sticks in your mind and be considered a perfect 10, just because if you played it a second time you'll just be playing through the same story?

That makes sense.

Not sure how I even slightly implied that, but okay. I said that a 10 in the category of lasting appeal was inflated, which has little to nothing to do with the story, replayed or not.

Okay, youre right, I can admit. I didn't know IGN had a lasting appeal category, it doesn't show up on the mobile app, just the final score. I thought you meant games couldn't be 10's because they couldn't be replayed over and over, at which point I was like what?

Sorry. :P

I've been super excited for this game ever since Uncharted 2 came out. Already got it pre-ordered. Co-op with 2 of my mates is going to be incredible.

But seriously guys, surely what matters is that it's being described as a 'masterpiece', not that it has a number attached to a certain aspect of it.
