Undead and loving it!

All you vampire haters out there, you don't know what your missing. Vampires are sooo much fun to play as. I think the people that say they are terrible, are simply playing them all wrong. The trick is you have to focus on the skills that vampirism enhances. Mages work but assassins are the best as vampires. Any race can become one, but Molag Bal must have had the Dunmer in mind when he created vampires. The dark elves are the perfect race for the vampire, and that is the race I chose.

Focusing on sneak, bow, light armor, illusion and destruction magic and one handed (daggers). My dunmer vampire has been terrorizing all kinds of towns. I sneak in and kill guard after guard with my bow from afar. I also like to sneak in and slit their throats with my dagger. Too many people use vampiric drain as their main offense weapon before "softening" up their prey. I find after wounding them with arrows they die so much easier with this power. Then of course I love using the other vampire gifts like raising a body to fight for me and calming a enemy only to slit their throat, fun times.

Vampires are suppose to be stealthy killers of the night, not raging forces of destruction, like the werewolves are. Play them right and man are they fun.

Did you get Werewolf form?If yes,you are unable to become one.You just need to be damaged by one.

If I decide I want to bring hell to a town, I will allow myself to become blood thirsty, maximizing all my vampire powers. I have fun going on a killing spree. When I decide to do some quests or sell loot from my dead prey, I use embrace of shadows and sneak into a town, pick a lock and feed on a sleeping person. I revert to stage one and everyone talks to me again. Its a beautiful thing.

Hmm... that's odd because I cured myself of Lycanthropy before I even came across a Vampire. Maybe I haven't seen the right ones yet, because I have heard of Ancient Vampires but all I have seen were almost human ones swinging at me with swords, with their masters using magic.

The bonuses vampirism provides are easily replaced by leveling your skills. After that - you only get the drawbacks.

Unless you are maxed out with your skills, the vampire bonuses are still bonuses that add to your skill.

Vampirism in Skyrim doesn't offer any skill bonuses.

Unless you are an ancient vampire, no way could a vampire rival a werewolf in any lore without using tech or magic to do it. (Yes, I am looking at you Selene). Werewolves are forces of destruction, where as vampires are stealthy killers.

the skyrim vamprie (volkneir) are paranoid, icey demons that spring from solid ice to catch their pray and eat them (like 30 days of night vampires eat them, not cyrodill "svck some blood" eat them), they could easily rival werewolves

I guess a better way to describe it is vampirism enhances abilities and gives abilities.

Which, again, are easily replaceable by means that give no drawbacks like "burning in the sunlight".

You can have one of the two bonus packs:

1. +5 to frost resistance, but we'll break your legs.
2. +5 to frost resistance.

A bonus is still a bonus.

Lol, this had me laughing my ass off, nice. I mean things like illusion spells are 25% MORE powerful, even if you have that skill leveled way up.

That would just mean that your invisibility spell will last 7.5 seconds longer. And people will stay frenzied/calm for 15s more. Personally, that's not exactly a worthy enough bonus to get in a bundle with the weakness to sunlight.

The thing is, illusion at lv100 with perks cannot be 25% more powerful than it already is... it's not like destruction, where +25% damage is +25% damage, in illusion a calm spell is a calm spell any way you cast it, and at full level it will affect everyone anyway...
