Rage is the way it is because it was built for consoles. I am disappointed that so much potential was wasted just to cram it into the consoles, both very limited machines.
Respect is earned not demanded.
Lets make this perferctly clear, I don't care if you are dissapointed with
id.
it is when you throw out comments that disrespect other
gamers that i take issue.
talking down to console gamers is childish, and we don't deserve your disrespect. We are gamers just like you, who want to have fun playing games. I don't want your resopect. What i want is for you to not actively disrespect consloe gamers.
Huge difference.
if you continue to talk down to console gamers, wont ask you to try and be civil, i will simply report you... Because honestly, you ruin the experience of this gaming community.
I can't even make an apreciation thread without misdirected negativity tainting it.
We have do-see-doe'd around this for months, but rage was not built for consoles. stop saying it was, because it simply is not true.
Rage, more specifically tech 5 is a starting point for games to be developed simultaneously across ALL platforms.
It was not built
for consoles. It was built for
all platforms.
It is something that has not been done before.
You don't tell the Wright brothers they were lame because they couldnt get a plane to fly at first- because they were most certainly onto something, even if it took a few itterations to get worked out perfectly.
And finally, this thread relates to mega-textures.
Stop hijacking to make it about other stuff.
Now that we are on topic, i will reply to the only part of your posting in this thread that actually has the slightest to do with the topic.
Blurry textures have
nothing to do with consolesit has everything to do witht the fact that it is impractical for even PC users to load over 1 terabyte fo textures onto their machines.
Can it be done? yes. but it would be a niche game that very few would be able to play.
The artists did an amazing job, painstakingly painting all of the textures on this game.
Thank you, artists and thank you id for thinking in a new direction, i can't wait to see what you can do to further this technology.
