There's only one way to fix this, it involves a boombox, an open window, and a slow 80s song. B)

Pull yourself together man.

Also provided if we get that new shiny server. I would like a section of it used for SMP technic until we get something similiar ported to Spout for everyone to use. So nothing would interfere with the main map and only people who want to download some stuff client side would join.

That's exactly what I was thinking, specifically 'Take these broken wings'

@Skooma- I'm cool with mods, I just would need step by step guidelines, and I'd not need the HD patcher, as it seems to crash my MC to blackscreen no matter what.

Server problems if anyone's willing to help: I've got the server running on our desktop (I guess :P ), then when I go to connect from my laptop I get the message "Failed to connect to the server Connection times out: connect"

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I'm not very good with this stuff :(

If you're trying to connect to the BGSF server, it's happening because Bone broke up with us and we need to do something cheesy to get him back.

Nein, I'm making my own server.

I have some technical questions about setting up servers that I feel more comfortable asking here than anywhere else, if anyone's willing to help.

I want to set up a 2 person server for me and my brother. It's my understanding that Mojang gives out the server stuff I need for free, the downside being (I imagine) that free servers can't host many people, but that's fine. Like I said, it's for 2 people, maybe 3 or 4 depending on if his friends want in.

I read somewhere that you should set up the server on a separate machine if the computer you run MC on isn't super great. Me and my bro run MC on laptops (both decent enough to play without lag on Normal render distance), but there is a desktop in our house that is pretty decent but we don't actually do a whole lot on it. So:

Is it possible then to set up the server on our family desktop, and then just play on our separate laptops?

I've had problems with connecting [censored] before.

I just found an amazing idea for a house, but it's more than a little... Tall. Should that be alright for the next map?

until he tells me himself otherwise, its my official opinion that tank is still rolling on that "worlds longest booty call"

Edit: bone didn't really break up with the server, he's just moving to a new house

What are the best mods that I can have installed simoultanioisly(for 1.0), and what mods does the server have.

My wishlist for singleplayer currently includes the following. Since there's some redundancies, I may not get them all. Also, many are still not updated for 1.0:

Better than Wolves
Redpower
Aether
Buildcraft/Industrialcraft
Peaceful Pack
Mo'Creatures
Rei's Minimap

...And probably a few that were on my wishlist but I've completely forgotten.

Has anyone been able to speak to Bone and ask the status of his situation? :o

Is someone getting all lonely in SP with no one to admire their talented buildings....except Squidward.

Middle of december I shall throw a virtual brick at tank to find out.

Who is this mystical tank? Undone?

Sheep people TYVM >: (

And actually, I never really BUILT anything, I just sort of cleaned up the NPC town I found to make it not look like the game's spawning is mentally defective, mined a little, and that was like 1-2 weeks ago. I like playing with others because seeing others around just feels more fun than being alone by myself.

Mrtankjump is an IRL friend of Bone's that he brought in a while back as a secondery Aedra. He was sort of like the WIzard behind the curtain of Oz so to speak.

Didn't you build the Lucky 38 and other things, thats what I was meaning?
Yeah I know, Squi...Sheep people don't provide enough banter and I don't know the local dialect of "Moo moo" or "Bahhh"

Personally, I will now rest for a while, then get back to work refreshed and eager.

All those vacations must've been very tiring.

Nice, maybe he'll stop all the namby-pamby magic mumbo-jumbo that shouldn't be in MC and actually add new, interesting stuff :)

New Updates at http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/833222-new-prerelease-is-available/
Spoiler

New Features:

Taiga biomes return
Apples can randomly drop from trees

Apples will only drop from default trees (no pine or birch). You will get apple in 1/200 chance.

Farmland trampling mechanics have been altered

Farmland no longer tramples by walking on it, only jumping will affect it. Animals can no longer trample your crops.

"Void fog" gone at bedrock level in Creative mode

Bugs:

Breaking wheat can "trample" between 2 and 5 adjacent farmland blocks, this is being addressed
Placing a block next to double-doors (wooden) can cause them to force open
Sugar cane can be placed underwater

Woohoo! Minecraft has indeed been saved! :celebration: It really was only a matter of time, especially after that horribly buggy release.

I do appreciate Notch for coming up with the game, but lately he's let me down. I'm glad Jeb will get to come in and continue working his magic.

Stopped taking the article serious at 'He’s planning to have a bit of a rest after years of solid development on Minecraft'

He pretty much stopped doing little more than vacations like what, a year and a half ago?

I haven't been keeping up in a while, so I have a question: Is there still actually a server? I ask Minecraft doesn't say it exists.

Yes, but it isnt being updated to 1.0 until Bone makes his triumphant term. So at the moment we do not, but we will when Bone returns to update the plug ins.

Right. Well, I hope that I'll actually be able to play this time. Last time I couldn't go five minutes without Minecraft grinding to a halt and going less the 1 FPS. Then crashing.

Which is weird because IIRC you have a pretty good rig where as mine has had 0 modification for gaming and plays MC fairly well (granted Im on on short/medium render 90% of the time.
