Upgrade or Downgrade...or Bacon?

Well in the GTX 2xx series alone you have the 210,220,230,240,250,260,270,275,280,285,295
There are many others in the 5xxx lineup.

It's an XFX GTX 260 Black Edition. I'm the friend in question.

^^^^ If he is indeed the person in question, then that's a great card....much better than a Radeon 5450. However, power supply needs to be replaced in that Asus system. How much are you willing to spend for a new PSU?

Seasonic, Silverstone, XFX, and Corsair have excellent units for the most part. Several of XFX and Corsair PSUs are actually made by Seasonic.

Antec has cheaper (but still reliable) units as well....few of which made by Seasonic too
