I urge you to not purchase another Bethesda game

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 11:32 am

After reading several stories and threads, it's safe to say that the large bugs will not be fixed.

For ps3 in particular, news from the fallout developers indicate the crippling lag cannot be fixed. (link is somewhere in ps3 section)

So how do we stop developers from selling us broken games? Don't purchase their products.
If you are unhappy with skyrim due to technical issues then don't purchase future games. How else will they know they have pushed their luck?

I urge you to not blindly follow Bethesda and kid yourself into thinking they will be fixing these issues or learning from mistakes.
If you are happy with this product, then disregard this post, but those tired of broken games: stand up for yourself.

EDIT: I am emphasising the fact that I believe if you are truly happy with the product then I am happy that you are.

Please take the time to fully understand the post and please provide mature comments.

Please also understand that many a customer are having issues that do not show a quality-tested game which is what this thread is about.

And what if they stop to do games for the PS3 altogether?

And after all, when TES VI comes out we probably will be in the PS4 generation anyway (And with a new Engine, there's no way that Modified Gamebryo can survive one more decade)

No thanks. I've enjoyed Skyrim, as well as every other Bethesda game I've purchased.

I seem to be the only person playing on PS3 that hasn't had any problems whatsoever.

What is the point of even developing ps3 version if you cannot actually play it?

And so what about a new engine? They have had years to fix the current one so crippling lag isn't a problem. It isn't like they are unaware of the issue.

I don't blame you guys. They couldn't have done any decent amount of testing on the PS3 to not have ran into this bug.

Deadlines ruin games.

Who cares if it lags. The main point is to enjoy the game.

How about no?

Even if they don't fix every bug, mods will fix anything else plus improve the game in every possible way.

Plus, I've haven't had very many issues at all thus far, so I'm beginning to wonder if sone people here just complain about everything because it didn't live up to their incredible hype.

They already said they were working on it, so have some patience and post your issues for them but it's ridiculous to go on their official forum, filled with their fans, and urge them not to buy future games.

It's not Beth's fault, it's the PS3's hardware that makes it's difficult to work with. :brokencomputer:

As a PC player you can guarantee this is going to be the last Bethesda game I purchase. Even though I enjoy the games immensely it's never until months later after modders have fixed Bethesdas consistently broken games does my enjoyment ever reach it's peak. Prior to that, on a vanilla or lightly modded game the experience is always lacking.

Honestly I'd sooner pay the modders than Bethesda ever again.

I understand that Loads of people are happy with the product, but many are not or shouldn't be.

I only ask that people stop saying:

"oh it's Bethesda, it's always been like this" and actually expect a product that is not broken.

I'm definitely not buying another Bethesda game on ps3. I'm only gonna play Skyrim till I get platinum, and I only need 2 more trophies to get it so Skyrim will be gathering dust after next week. Its ridiculous that Bethesda didnt test the game on ps3.

Well as much as I disagree with the sentiment of the OP, in his defense he did say if we are enjoying the game and have no problems to disregard this post.

With respect, I'll continue to buy the great games that Bethesda have made and that I, without exception, have enjoyed.

I always boycott products that I think deserve it, but Beth however hasn't done any wrong by me.

Though I play on PC and have no problems with the game I still agree with this post. If the PS3 versions of their games are all significantly worse than on other platforms, which seems to be the case, then the only way they will start caring about that is if PS3 sales drop considerably.

Of course, you also run the risk of them writing the platform off and paying less attention to it, like many developers do the PC version of games.

Not really. I find it rediculous spending my hard earned cash on something that doesn't work.

Sorry the game didn't live up to my expectations, I was just expecting a game that didnt lag witthin 15 mins and crash at 30

You do realize that series can end? They could decide to not make another Elder Scrolls. Or just not for the PS3. They haven't done anything wrong by me. I love ES more then anygame this year.

carry on with your boycott but I for one am getting sick of seeing this forum constantly getting bombarded with multiple threads all concerning the same well known problem.

I really hope you're not serious. They've spent enough time developing for the PS3 that they should know what they're doing by now.

That said, I am hopeful that they will fix the bugs (unlike Oblivion).
