has every single guard taken a arrow to the knee? because it all kinda makes sense to why Guards are so tought? because they used to be Adventurers?
also wouldnt an Army of wounded Adventurers make a weak army?

wait is the Dragonborn DESTINED to become a Guard if he takes a arrow to the knee? someone help me please im really scared
A town guard isnt really army.

Hes a guard. He stays in one place and guards it. Armies have to move long distances as well as adventurers. With adventuring, you have combat. Maybe theyre only good at combat so they become guards

You sleep rather soundly for an arrow, that's good, you'll need a clear conscience for what I'm about to propose.

If it bleeds, it can take an Arrow in the Knee.

You jerk, so now you say that skellys cannot be shot in the knee? How insensitive.

Well the Jarl who hired him got his start in public service becoming a guard, and... guess why he gave up adventuring to become one?

Dear Talos Man! Of course we have to hire them as guards!! Can you imagine the state of the nation if we left a horde of ex-adventurers with knee injuries unemployed?! It would be anarchy, chaos!
