I can imagine Chrysamere will make a return.

After all, blade of a paladin.

Silly Paladins... can one blade take down hundreds of bats that are svcking the life out of you? :D

You forget the Paladin's Blade also has powerful defensive enchantments on it, not to mention the Bane of the Undead spell! That svcker is an AoE

Ok, I thought this was a typo but people keep writing this and I have to ask...

"Aedric" ? What is this?

The Nine.

Daedric is for daedra and Aedric is for aedra, or the gods

- Auriel's Bow: Not faction only, but it's an Aedric artifact and will likely serve us well, IF we level archery. if not, get a follower whos a marksman?

Wait has this been confirmed??

Search for Auriel's Bow

Auriel, or Akatosh, is the Dragon God of Time. A curious choice for a holy artifact imo

I rather like the Dawnguard faction armor. That said, I recall in one of the interviews the comment that the Dawnguard are about crafting and exploration. Is it possible that there will be Dawnguard-only crafting options?

Ai, Ai .. i know the history -no rudeness intended-
Possibly its had a redesign -i hope not- .. with Alduin involved in this game who is supposedly the first child of akatosh... perhaps the bow will be dragonbone this time round, considering they're adding dragonbone weapons in for the DLC

I'm willing to bet this one has powerful divine enchantments on it. Like being able to slay undead in a single hit

Not to mention Detect/Turn Undead spells and the legendary Bane of the Undead master spell.

It will be interesting to see if these vampire lords give me a challenge

The biggest benefit of joining the Dawnguard?
Removing a blight and scourge from the face of existence so normal people can sleep soundly.
I FIND THAT OFFENSIVE. XD I'm No blight. although I guess I'm not a vampire lord... yet.

And if you like shields, then SpellBreaker will make there "many flashy and unique" spells completely useless...
Add a slight seasoning of Armored Trolls and the VL are basically destroyed already.

I still think that the best benefit to those sad little Vampire Hunters would be a quick death by fangs and exsanguination...

That's right! Aradal the Lightbringer, paladin of the Nine and descendant of the Divine Crusader, at your service.

(Bows)

But don't mistake me for an overzealous fanatic! There are genuinely good vampires and werewolves out there, such as Sybille Stentor. I am focused on protecting the faithful and innocent

Lets get back on topic though: What else can we expect for vampire hunters in Dawnguard?

I thought there was also a melee move where bats attack your opponent.

Considering it was suggested she does Very Bad Things to prisoners, makes her a good guy..right??

Theres a perk which allows you to summon a swarm of them to hurt nearby people.. like Flame Cloak

Well considering all the undead (Vampires and Soul Cairn) we should get something to fight generally all undead with (obviously). As said also Dawn Breaker should find much use here.

I don't know if you have played Morrowind or not, but one of the high level Temple quests has you clear out the base of one of the three vampire clans of Vvardenfell. The guy gives you a brutal warhammer called Veloth's Judgement that made me feel like a badass when I was killing the vampires with it. I am very tempted to make a melee character who uses warhammers and use a burning hammer to smite people with.

Though I am already very tempted to make a crossbow user. Shall'th I go Van Helsing on they asses.

I'm actually surprised that with her hatred of the undead, Meridia hasn't been mentioned as a possible patron for the Dawnguard yet... O.o

She's certainly no saint, I'll give you that. I guess a better example would be Count Hassildor

I did actually play Morrowind, but I never joined the Temple. I joined the Imperial Cult, and killed all 3 vampire clans. Glory to the Nine!

You raise a good point though, with the soul cairn, there's bound to be anti undead weapons
