Vampire Lord Weaknesses

Why is nearly everyone so upset about the Stage 4 change in Vampirism? Here's an idea if you want most of a town to attack you then just attack them first and they'll fight back! Do I have to think of everything for ye guys?

Just face it most people hated the old Stage 4 of Vampirism, including myself! It just svcked the fun out the game! No pun intended!

What is your definition of "nice" vampire?

Just a random, unrelated question not to be taken seriously or as an offense. How old are you?
16 And by no means what I say is serious im trying to make debates over these things. Am I not alloud to have an opinion on the matter? Lets say you were a really pro-good vampire and refuse to feed no matter the cost because its against your nature, however you don't know of the cure. If you were example someone like rolaf or hadver someone whos grown up in riverwood I doubt everyone would turn on you if they knew you were a good person they would help you hide it, and some people will want to rp as a good vampire so thats my opinion on the matter take it as you will?

This ^ if you a bad vampire then it does not matter if they attack or not because if you are "bad" surely you would first attack them.

I have to ask the same question.
Also, if the sun is truly blocked out (its just a giant hole into Oblivion in TES) wouldn't that cause a severe drop in your ability to generate mana? Also would kind of make it hard for humans to grow food, which means their numbers might drop... meaning you would have a harder time finding food (humans)
I think the 'blocking' of the sun might be more figurative than literal. They just said they wanted to end the tyranny of the sun, so they might find a way to develop a tolerance to its exposure.

The Tyranny of the Sun is actually a prophecy that claims vampires will be eradicated. Harkon plans to stop this from coming true. As for the sun, there are stars that can serve as a replacement for the sun. I don't believe the plants are affected directly by the sunlight, unless it is a "Nirnroot" which are said to be dependent on sunlight.

Because it makes no sense at all. Your a blood-starved vampire and no one attacks you? There are also new ways to feed, so the tweak in the stage comes off as an attempt to appease the casual players. And because it is immersion breaking. We also do not get a bounty in stage 4 vampirism. If you attack people, you get a nice bounty on your head.

I never did flame you for having an opinion on the matter. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Though I think the vampire himself may have trouble trying to contain his urges, unless he finds a way to harvest blood every day from people ;).

I do understand where your coming from as in oh its to easy now, however vampires still have a big 100% fire weekness thingy + they have replaced it with something equally annoying and it can also be quite annoying for you being instantly attacked if you are for example wearing a cloak or dragon mask how is it possible they know your a vampire so boths views on the matter are understandable in my opinion.

Vampire itself are against the nature. And they have the insatiable lust for human/mer/beastrace blood. The lack of feeding will make them crazy and go postal. Don't be an idealist as the teens usually are < >the fear of undead and a desire to to kill the vampire/werewolf is an instinct - it's imprinted into the human/etc. mind.

Aah, I don't really know much about Dawnguard, so I took the words "tyranny of the sun" at face value.
I am curious where you heard it was a prophecy though. Part of the 0.5%? (I'm stuck on PC, so I couldn't have applied)

Yes but as I said they could add another disablity of stage 4 such as no npcs will talk to you I believe that was in oblivion. Plus theres still the matter of stamina/magicka/health discreased during daylight and it not regenerating.

But unless you turn everyone in Riverwood into vampires, they are most certainly going to attack the vampires if they come into their homes.

How would everyone becoming pals with vampires because they blocked out the sun make sense?

Well maybe because that's not the only thing that Harkon is planning to do? It's still stupid that Stage 4 vampires aren't attacked but who knows. Maybe ending the sun's effect on vampires does something else to them. Evolution perhaps?

Many online sources claim it is a prophecy. It is easy to search for it.

Anywhere in lore that specifically says the blood has to come from people? They drink from Argonians the same as they drink from Imperials and the rest of the races so why can't the blood be from Skeevers like say if they wanted to roleplay a vampire akin to the "good" vampire from the film Interview with the Vampire.

I hear we can get bottled blood now so it is quite feasible to imagine the blood in the bottle comes from other non race sources.

As for the OP question I heard fire and sun weakens the lord as will probably silver, Dawn Breaker and Restoration spells and enchants that effect undead. I'm guessing they can still happily munch down a glove of garlic though and suffer nothing but bad breath.

Aah well, I've learned not to trust arbitrary online sources, so i'll just wait for the DLC to come. Or for a beta tester to let it slip.
