The skull of corruption is the most uninspired and possibly most useless daedric artifact.

"It does 50 points of damage!"

And.......?

"Well, it starts off with only 20. But you can get it to 50 by running around and corrupting people's dreams, but you have to do while they're asleep."

.............

Seriously if you're going to make an item people have to jump through hoops for to obtain and upgrade, you make it great. The bandits you kill on the way to obtaining this weapon have better weapons for crying out loud. It looks cool but I'm not wasting 10 spaces of carry weight just to whip it out every now and then in front of some guards.

Actually it is a fairly decent staff for my Illusionist, it helps pick off the low HP stragglers if I am out of magic. I might come across a better one at some point but at level 22 it is pretty helpful, not to mention pretty cool looking.

There is 16 Daedric Artifacts in the world.

These I know you can lose:
Ohgima Infinum
Skeleton Key
Skull of Corruption
Mehrunes Razor

If anyone wants to continue the list go ahead.

But if you lose two of those artifacts you cannot get the achievement.

Honestly any dragon priest staff you find is going to be better if not as good as the skull of corruption. Hell, there's a lot of combat staffs found in chests, laying around, or even come as specific quest rewards that are better than the skull. You should use fortify illusion gear btw, never run out of it.

I took it on my first playthough, but then I was pretty disappointed that the quest didn't continue somehow. The voices make it sound like they want you to do something for them, but then you just get the staff and go on your marry way.
