I want children to be removed from the game (consoles anyway

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 1:24 pm

They're pure brats and repeat the same lines over and over, yet somehow manage to piss you off.

That little girl who runs around Whiterun and almost always into me and says she can fight me? At the top of her lungs? Oh boy... I killed her mother in front of her and trashed the place. Sure didnt change her tone though.

That kid from the Jarls palace? "another wanderer here to lick my fathers boot" or "you the new cook? I like my meat red."

I killed all the guards I could and served them severed head, but they kept saying the same things over and over.

I don't see why the hell Bethesda even adds children in their games if they're gonna make them piss everyone off, especially console players.

I'd like to see in the next or future patches the option to turn off their voices or completely remove them from the game and replace them with chickens, who are much more cooler.

I could have done without the kids myself. As annoying as in real life.

Have you read about the Snow Prince, who slaughters all the Nords, just to be taken down by a Nord child who throws a sword towards him? They are immortal in this game, and should belong in the realm of the deities.

Bethesda really seem to go out of their way to make children annoying, it's a shame because if they were added correctly they could add to the ambiance of the game in a good way.

I prefer that they did not have kids in the game. Of course I also prefer that they not have marriage, but at least with marriage it is purely optional, so kudos to Bethesda for that. The kids are just plain annoying.

Some of the posters above have compared them to guards, but I am sorry, a guard repeating the same line about an arrow in his knee is in no way anywhere near annoying as those bratty kids running around.

Now get off my lawn before I turn the sprinklers on you!

They resisted the attack and countered with another wanderer here to lick my father's boot.

I personally prefer kids since it does add a bit of realism, but I'm biased, I want 6 in real life xD

is that so? how about no? don't talk to them? why ruin a good rp experience just because one person does not like it. did you know you can play tag with them! and hide and seek.

I'm not fond of kids IRL. They actually act kind of... accurately, really.

As a console player myself, I'd rather them not even be in the game, because we can't... "remove" them from the game.

I knew that. I also know that they will ask you to turn them invisible. So now Bethesda is using kids to substitute as an annoying version of Maiq the Liar, since this is an obvious reference to the lack of spellmaking in Skyrim. There is an invisibility spell in the game so in theory I should be able to turn the kids invisible if I had spellmaking.

Come to think of it if they just brought back spellmaking (and some of the spell effects from prior games) I could solve the whole rotten kid problem with a simple little spell I call "Children Should Neither Be Seen Nor Heard" (invisibility 120 seconds on target, plus silence 120 seconds on target).

Yes, most of the kids in the game are snotty little brats, and I could do without any BS from them. Seen and not heard, would make me happy. If it were 'real' life and not a game where they are immortal, they would properly be hiding behind their mama's skirts when the badassed, blood soaked adventurers marched into town- not trying to get in their face and annoy them. They act like spoiled, respect-less modern kids in OUR world, not a rough, barbaric one where kids best keep thier snotty comments zipped up around strangers and their elders, if they want to see puberty. Poorly implemented.

Well, people have been complaining since at least Morrowind for them to add children. I guess they were trying to create the morale of "Be careful what you wish for..."

Most of them don't bother me and it's cool that you can play 'Tag' or 'hide and seek' with them, if you are so inclined, but I am looking forward to a mod that makes them less annoying.

Mainly, it's Braith and that Brat son-of-Whiterun-Jarl-whatsisface that really make me want to Shout them into next Tuesday.

I want a mod where you can drag him by the hair to his father, and say "Sorry Jarl... I was going to save the Kingdom and all, but since you obviously don't know how to raise your kids to be respectful of their elders, I've decided you're not worth it... in fact, now I'm gonna have to kill you while he watches..." Then proceed to kill everyone in the Keep, just because of that one annoying kid. That would be a great excuse to 'opt out' on the Main Quest, don't you think? I mean, if the kids aren't gonna be good people, what's the point of saving the Kingdom? Might as well wash, rinse and start over with Khajiit or something.
