I WANT MORE! (plus steam svcks)

Post » Thu Jun 21, 2012 5:03 am

i want more too kill in skyrim and new places to do it, there needs to be more conquest battle between stormcloaks and legionaires than it being judged by a one-way questline, i like to make rapid in-the-moment desicions and maybe in the future i wanna be a stormcloak instead of a legionaire. there needs to be more giants, more dragons, more sieges more more more and more of everything, i wanna face 200 bandits instead of 2. i want this game to be set on EXTREME mode. i'm tired of slaying everyone in the towns because i'm too bored to search for more bandits, dragons, bears, wolfs, draugrs, exc, exc,EXC,EXC!!!!!

i wanna go to cyrodil and slay monsters and more EXC there. i wanna go to morrowind and murder EXC there. skyrims too small!!!! i can run from a fort northwest corner of the map and be at whiterun in 20 mins and be at the other corner in 40!!! i wanna go more places.

i want there too be a perk in twohanded line so i can hold 2 greatswords, 2 perks in archery line so i can shoot bows faster than original 30% and a knockback perk that makes weak bandits fly back from being hit with an arrow
i wanna make my guy more taller and buffer than everyone else so it accomodates for having two greatswords!!! i wanna have a nord that looks like a GOD!!!!
i want shouts to have more power and strength so they are worth shouting, i want storm call too be a freak lightning storm than a drizzle with afew cracks. OMG do i hate the cooldowns, there needs to be a manacount instead of a stupid hour cooldown so frost and fire breath can be more useful. i want my god-like nord to breath like a dragon than hiccup useless shouts!

I WANT MOAR!!!!!!
GIVE ME MOAR!!!
>:o!!!!!

Steam does svck. Just because you think it`s your milk don`t mean we should all just play and accept it. And why should he do without a great game? Here we are fans of Bethesda game then suddenly they shove forced Steam in our face with no choice except to lose out on the whole game? It`s not his fault that Steam is forced upon us all who just want to enjoy Skyrim itself.

You won't be mad about steam anymore once they get the steam workshop integration working, trust me.
Nothing wrong with a bit of DRM if it actually provides an additional service.

Just so that I'm on the same page as everyone else, is this a satire of a post or a legitimate post?

Thats what I'm trying to figure out. I think the OP is serious. If he is then he's spoiled because Skyrim is huge and the fact that it takes him 20 minutes to run across the map is impressive for a any game.

20 Minutes is [censored] anyway, he'd have to be moving at 120 km/h (75 mph) to get from one side to the other in 20 minutes.

It takes me hours to get from one side to another, I get sidetracked though, skyrim is huge enough as is, bigger means more problems.

Then wait for CK and mod all this in (if yo uhave the game on PC). Otherwise, just wait for DLC/addon or next TES.

Have a nice day

mud-guy47: i thought i was havin a seizure but i realised i am still in my chair.

val of purple: i wish i could so much, but since trying to get funding, teams and a good processing company together is an 12 year hassle....its not really that great. plus i dont play steam cause i dont like the fact i have to sign there EULA and huge amounts of games are dictated by them to the point where i'm svcking there schlong for any pc game experience. i want too keep my pc's game simple, buy at the store, install and play at home. none of that online dictatership/EULA crap where my rights get revoked. i know most games have a eula but i dont wanna sign steams eula. if that makes any sense.

blade watcher: i agree.

jagar tharn12: legitimate this is how i feel.

thatguy91,flowzors, parcheesy90: i only have a console to play skyrim without steam (thankfully) but tbh i ran from the tiptop of the mountain in the northwest then just sprinted southeast and about 15-20 mins later i realised i was at the western watchtower in whiterun. then i kept going with the same result when i hit riften. i was astonished and bored cause i exhausted that activity.

stormchild:no i dont have it installed on this pc.

Ji soo: let them come, OP hungers....

last and not least, STEAM svckS RAWR!!!!!

Why does Steam svck? I can download any game instead of ever having to go to a store. I can find all of the games I need in 1 location. I do not need to keep CDs with games any longer. I can play offline if I want to. I can play friends/brother's games just by signing in to their accounts and playing in offline mode. I rarely ever have any issues with Steam except for in multi-player games where I could desync from the cloud which is HIGHLY rare and I can STILL play. Patches are incredibly easy and quick to do. What's your beef with Steam? It isn't like Gamespy...

Sorry, but almost every post I've seen with your username is this same complaint over and over again. We get it, you don't like Steam. Could you maybe move on to more productive conversation now?

I don't like steam either. What I can't understand is why a totally different corporate entity will allow it's competitor to distribute their product? Surely Betheseda has more sense than this.

I'm glad it takes so long. There are plenty of side-trips into massive dungeons on the way to/from quest givers/quests. It can take me several days (real life) to get there lol.

You mean the sense to have their game advertised to every one of the hundreds of thousands of people who log in to Steam each day?

The sense to increase sales by being able to cut the price for limited periods quickly and easily?

The sense to sell DLC in a way that makes it easy to buy and install for their customers?

Competitor? It provides a service and is a scale Bethesda cannot easily replicate. It is a single source for customers to buy games quickly and easily. It is a fantastic marketing tool as you are GUARANTEED to reach your target audience for little if any expenditure. Why do you not like Steam? You guys need to qualify this.

Well, it's done by Valve Corporation. Ultimately they just make games. So yes, they are Betheseda's competitor in a range of competitons. Blizzard, EA, as well as Microsoft have their own way of managing DLCs, and If I was Betheseda I wouldn't trust anyone of them to handle patches or DLCs knowing full well their reputation of dirty dealings and anti competitive behaviour.

Steam is GREAT ...
you don't have to stay online to play your games .. if you guys tried Ubisoft DRM you wouldn't say Steam svck .
and why to keep your games CDs/DVDs when you have the awesome steam .

I can see where the Steam complaints stim from...

Is Steam inhibiting me to play my game? Well, no.

Does it require software to play the software I've already paid for? Well, sure, but it's free.

Does it give me an incentive (if it were an option) to use it? No.

It's a "hurdle" in the lightest sense, but if it does come through with the ideas that are in development, I don't see much reason to complain about Steam (besides the advertisemants). Okay, internet connection but this is 2012, I'm not sure where you're getting your BGS info, please direct me to the nearest newspaper and I'll subscribe.

I'm pretty indifferent on the subject, but it definitely does offend some people, and I mostly think it's because what Steam is limited to at this time, as far as user-oriented options, or rather, an advantage to use it in the first place.

Also, I think most of us old-timers enjoy holding physical copies of the product in our hands. I religiously read old game-manuals to help me sleep. Steam kinda defeats that purpose.

Are you wearing a tinfoil hat right now? Blizzard/Activision and EA are the BANE of gaming. Valve is arguably a crusader in the industry. I'm sorry, but having a consolidated source is amazing. I don't have 20 billion logins with passwords all with my CC info on file etc. and finding games and downloading everything is simple. Valve is making a cut of everything. It is in their best interest to diversify, especially with products that do not conflict with their limited IPs that they have. This is a very lucrative option for any game developer as they can use a tried and true third party rather than take on the overhead themselves to develop and maintain something like Steam.

Blame Bethesda for being too damn cheap to make their own system. Steam itself is a great network, AAA publishers that are too cheap to create its own system to make a sort of DRM of their own kind. EA did this with origin and no matter how much flak you gave them you must respect that they actually created a system for their games and not depend on a 3rd party for such.

Valve is more then happy for companies such as Beth to use their systems because they get a share of the profit from it. I am for steam but I am not for games from other then Valve and indie titles to FORCE it on you.

And going by the current trend I wouldn't be surprised for Steam to be forced upon next generation Playstation and Xbox to play future TES titles
