A way to check if a player owns a house?

I don't think this is a good solution, since you can just unlock the door by opening the console command prompt, select the door and type "Unlock" to unlock the door without having the key.
If your going to cheat and unlock the door, does it really matter then?

Instead of using the debug message, just use a regular message object if you want to display some text on the screen.

Some of the Debug functions do need ini changes to work - maybe that one doesn't. I wouldn't (personally) use debug functions unless I was actually debugging.
Using a Message would probably be a better choice ;)

I also had this idea, you beat me to it; however I was thinking that it may be possible to drop the key once the house has been visited and it would no longer be a quest item.... I know it's unlikely that a player would drop the key for any reason but I suppose you gotta consider every possibility.

Late to the thread, but for future reference and such, I don't think you can drop keys--at least, when I try, I get a message saying so.
