Week off work?

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 8:07 pm

I did take vacation time when FO3 came out. I did not play FO3 during that time because of a bug. Now though I have the week of Halloween off so I can spend time with my daughter. Yet when in school I have time for FNV. :tops:

Maybe you'll tell your boss you've a medical problem with your anus just so they're too embarrassed to ask any further questions?

I believe the medical condition you're looking for is called anol Glaucoma.

well, i go to college every tuesday and thursday. so basically that means i'm off monday, wednesday, and friday.. thus i will have friday through monday of the week of the 19th to just have the game to myself (basically 4 straight days :D).

i've already told my friends that i will not be social during that period of time, and one of them was like 'well see, first im going to call you. then gabi will. then milt will. and itll be one big circle of annoyance.' i said 'i always have my phone on silent.' 'well then, we'll come to your door.' i was like 'helll nawww' :P

point is, its not really a week off, but its pretty damned close

Hm, can't exactly take a week off school.....
Its a shame really, around the same time New Vegas comes out I have soccer try-outs around that time
and with our school's a-hole coach we never get a day off with constant practices
I'm not sure how much time I will really get to play it :(

I just found out that I have a five day weekend, and it starts on the 20th. Midnight release, school in the morning, and then five days of straight Vegas.. Unless friends or my lady intervene.

Maybe I'll hide my phone..

So AMAZING! :D

Ah, it's a good time to not have a life. I'll probably end up playing it all day, err day.

Nah I'm good. I have enough spare hours in the day for some fallouty goodness. Hopefully no one will bother me during each session.

another kick in the teeth is that the game is released on the same day of I and my Girlfriends anniversary (you see where im going with this) don't get me wrong i love my Girlfriend but this is just annoying.

if it wasn't for the staggering of release dates this wouldn't happen (thanks Bethesda) :banghead:

Oh that svcks. I'm sure your girlfriend is gonna wanna put your nuts in a vice if you even seem preoccupied with playing New Vegas.

Mine would want to murder me if I said "I known it's our anniversary but do you mind if I squeeze 12 hrs of gaming in?"

A whole week off work? That's just overkill. I'm excited too but the game's not going anywhere. If you take of a week off work you should try to do something a little more meaningful. that doesn't mean I won't be playing every chance I get for a week.

Well, just imagine for yourself that the release date is actually a day later. Spend the day with your GF and play New Vegas the next day. One more day won't kill you and this is not directed at you but more a general statement but anyone who has problems deciding if they should play a video game or do RL stuff needs to put the controller down/step away from the computer and get some perspective on life.

I just got an e-mail from an HR rep in my company, apparently I have some extra vacation days from 2009, that they suggest I take before the end of the year because they won't roll over into 2011 and the "executive committee" has not (as of yet at least) approved the payout for unused 2009 vacation time. So I'll be taking the day after launch day off at least, and maybe launch day itself because I know I'll be up late playing the game... :)

I'm not taking time off specifically for this. However I need to burn off some days before Christmas, and just so happens that I have a week off a couple weeks after release. But won't be spending all that time gaming.

Nope I'll still go into work and get really worn down and when I get home I don't have the energy to play it.
Just like how it should be. :goodjob:
Will probably only play it like on sunday when I have a hangover, an hour or two on Friday before going out, and maybe squeeze in an hour of pain on monday-thursday.

Really I don't think I will be able to play that much now that I got an internship.

No. And if I took a week off from work, I most certainly wouldn't waste it on playing videogames.

It's called a "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Staycation" a lot of people are opting to stay home or within their home town when they spend their vacation time because of the economic downturn and whatnot... :D

For real. I wish I had some cash for a real vacation. I'm still trying to pay for my last one, damn credit card! All worth it though.

I guess paying $60 for an unlimited digital vacation in the beautiful mojave desert is actually a pretty good deal. :)

I can't afford to travel at the moment, so home sweet home even on a vac... staycation. But I do plan to have some other activities than sitting on a computer the whole time.

I hear ya on both accounts. I'm about $1,500 in the red thanks to my last vacation, so although I have some vacation time, I can't really afford to spend it actually going somewhere. If I do take some significant time off playing NV, I'll probably spend equal amounts of time working out and/or getting inebriated. :foodndrink:
