Werebears and Spears the two things I want most in DLC #2

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 5:53 pm

Why not? If I may ask. I'm interested to read your view.

Ditto. I'd be a bit disappointed, I'll admit, if there were more werecreatures in future DLC, but then again, it is lore friendly. I'd be totally okay if the DLC revolved around visiting other lands and there existed werecreatures in those lands without the werecreatures being a focus (such as how werewolves get a perk tree in Dawnguard but aren't really focused on outside of that); it would make sense for a Valenwood DLC to include but not focus on werevultures.

Primarily, though, if werecreature content is included or is the centerpiece of any future DLC, I'd prefer improvements and new toys for what we already have rather than new creatures altogether. Different werewolf models (or at least pallet swaps) based on race would be a start.

Agreed on all points. I still want my Werecrocadiles and Weresharks though. :ermm:

Wouldn't weresharks have a hard time...you know...breathing? And it's not like there's any underwater combat, though I could imagine a mod based on underwater adventures as a wereshark.

If we get new werecreature content, I'd like werewolf (and other werecreature) guilds and quests, maybe folks who hunt us or an expansion on the Silver Hand. I dunno; other than making us stronger and giving us fancy new perks, I don't know what much more can--or should-- be done.

Eh, all depends really. We don't know much about them except with whats in the book On Lycanthropy, and even then all it tells us is that they roam the oceans of Tamriel. I mean, people have been begging for underwater combat; maybe this could be used with it? :D

I agree, it shouldn't be a power up, there should be a con to each aside from the obvious. Maybe encounters with particular assassins or even Vigilants of Stendarr.

Vigilants of Stendarr vs. vampires, werewolves and necromancers/deadra-worshipers might be a bit much. :lmao:

Please stop this weresomthing/lycans nonsense. Spears I agree but for the rest. I want to play TES, not some Harry Potter / Underworld / Twilight crap.

I want to see new lands (not another Oblivion plane) and CW / Thalmor plot continuations.

Agreed. I feel like Bethesda is using popular movies as inspiration. Give us more stories and better quests. Running around playing a hybrid Van Helsing/ Underworld game does not excite me.

Hopefully the future DLC will have nothing to do with vampires or werewolves/werebears/carebears.

I have never seen those movies and I enjoy these dlc's. Does this tell you something?

That you like werewolves and vampires. Which is fine, and I have no problem with a DLC based on that. However, I imagine many like myself would enjoy seeing the many guilds/CW and Thalmor aspects expanded on. Just saying I would be bummed if all the DLC were to focus on vampires and werewolves.

I would be to if all of them were. I still want a Skelton butler and a dragon I can name and ride :(

How many DLCs do you think skyrim will get during it's 'lifetime'? There will be at least 2 if you count Hearthfire. Ideally they should release the same number of DLCs as they did for Fallout 3.

vampires and werewolfs.. fine. Lets just get some better writing for the quests. The quests for the factions in vanilla skyrim were god awful. I mean they were as bland as you can get.

Doesn't becoming a werewolf or a vampire lord count as shapeshifting.

Except that they were quite different from how they're now depicted in Dawnguard.

TES has had these werewolves and bears and Vampires in the lore since before any of those books/films were even released. Hircine is the father of lycanthropes! So before you cry "I want to play TES" remember that you are playing a well established part of it already!

And the whole Twilight thing is getting really, really old guys.

Except that they were quite different from how they're now depicted in Dawnguard.

How do you figure? Werewolves stay true to lore, I've not seen werebears mentioned in any of the works you pointed out... and Vampires have never really been fleshed out, all we know is that they are the children of Molag Bal, and a few of the subspecies across Tamriel. That's literaly it.

Considering that in the DICE 2012 video there was Werebears, you would think that werebears will be in Dawnguard.
That and the skill tree is called Lycanthrope not werewolves.
