I'm a Werewolf?

Just started playing the other day - very surprised to find out that the folks I've been living with are werewolves. This game is crazy.

To say it caught me off guard was an understatement. I assume now that the family in town they have a beef with are vampires, yes?

Most of their names are wolf related and they talk about "hunting" and "call of the blood". I think it's not a surprise at all.

What IS a surprise is how nerfed the Werewolf power is by....say level 10.

But the running is cool. :P

I've played 150 hours and not even used the werewolf transformation once except the "tutorial"
It's that bad.

I play on expert and I love the wolf form (I am level 45) I don't think its nerfed at all.

OK I am a complete novice just started playing this weekend. I never played WOW; I have been going from town to town and doing the horn quest. I stay at inns in town or in a bed roll of a victem out of town. How do you stay with people.

Yup, I transformed once. Then I quickly realized that without hand to hand or stats to fortify my claw attacks were weaker than my two hander. So basically werewolves are useless in combat.

And what's with the forced 3rd person?

I'm brand new to all of this too. I don't recall how I ended up at their house - it may have been just chatting with a dude on the street, or I may have done a task where I met up with one of them.

*shrugs* They were able to do 1st person werewolf just fine at least as far back as Daggerfall(didn't really play Arena). No clue why they'd remove that.

Yeah, it doesn't make any sense at all to me. You can change between 1st and 3rd person all the time, so why can't you as a werewolf?
I just don't get how people can enjoy the game in 3rd person though, but I guess it's a matter of taste or what you're used to.

I guess I am mistaken in thinking the 1 handed skill affects werewolves?

I didn't even notice that since I play the whole game in 3rd person.

The 1st person view/melee combat in this game is one of the worst things I've ever seen. I would not play this game without the 3rd person option.

I do not understand this as I simply can't stand using 3rd person, but I won't judge you for having a different opinion.

I won't try to change your mind (it matters to me not) but I'll explain what I don't like since you inquired (kind of).

You lose all the cool combat combinations and spin moves. Other features such as the stealth roll are garbage in 1st person (you just seem to propell forward quickly). Stealth roll is really cool for doing ninja flips off rocks.......again lost in 1st person.

Not to mention the immersion breaking RIDICULOUS view of two vertical swords bouncing up and down on the screen (don't even get me started on the "spell hand). I live in 1st person and that is NOT what it looks like.
