Do werewolves play a part in dawnguard?

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 10:26 am

I mean theres a werewolf perk tree in the dlc and there has to be a reason for it being added right? so maybe they play a role in dawnguard? I think it could be possible that the dawnguard members could be werewolves but im just guessing here, any ideas as to why it was added in? :S

The reason the werewolf perk tree was added is vampires were getting their perk tree so to balance things out they gave werewolves a perk tree.

GStaff said there is no relationship to werewolves in dawnguard. They got the skill tree to balance them out with vampires.

I am pretty sure that they have more imagination that to copy the questline of the companions and sell it in a dlc.

Well I hope they at least introduce a new way to become one, I hate doing the companions quests.

This. If there was no perk tree for werewolves, then all the werewolf lovers would complain about vampires getting cool new stuff. Besides, there shouldn't always be some kind of fighting whenever vampires and werewolves are involved. This isn't Underworld or Twilight. I bet that whenever someone types that they want werewolves and vampires to fight, one of those two movies are in the back of their minds.

i'm thinking it's going to be something sweet. todd was quite reluctant to discuss too much about the werewolves, besides them getting new freshness.

my werewolf is an assassin of giants and skymammoths.

On the bright side, you don't have to go too far into it.

Perhaps in late DLC, if they get enough demand for it. But I think they're just going to do the perk tree and call it done for werewolves. It is likely that they may add werebears at some point, since they were featured in the Game Jam video.

Well that wasn't my point, the whole thing is only like what, five quests?

I just don't like being forced to join them.

Werewolves are easy food for Vampires.

That's their role in Dawnguard.

They are not going to be part if the story.
The werewolf tree was added to balance the vampire tree.
I hope they add in s different way to become a werewolf because I don't want every character I make that wants to be a werewolf join the companions. Maybe they could be isolated to an area on the map or sonething or have them ad a very rare encounter in the wild or something like that.

I think its just a nice thing to give the doggies out there.
Most of Beth's DLC hints are bassically stuff that they wanted to add in the vanilla game, but just didnt, whether due to time or effort.
And if the Dawnguard are Wolves then i will head desk. Bears on the other hand....

It would be cool if werewolf's at least had some kind of role in it because the companions wasnt long enough for me, still its cool they gave werewolf lovers a perk tree, im hoping they will add werewolf encounters in skyrim though seeing that they said its possible to become a werewolf again if you dont like being a vampire.

Well if you watched the video it said they added a perk tree incase people go into it as werewolves. Ya know if your "type" is not going to be vampire or normal human then you get to choose which side you want to side with. I'm glad of this though and if they hopefully add werewolves to the wilderness it will make them that much more thrilling to kill them! :)

That's what I'm thinking. Also, it still has not been confirmed that there won't be werewolves in the wilderness, just that the story won't involve werewolves. That's the thing about having the title named after something in-game, it's easy to get some information misinterpreted or mixed up. Werewolves are obviously getting a bit more than just simply a perk tree if it's been confirmed that you can become a werewolf again after being cured of it.
Well that wasn't my point, the whole thing is only like what, five quests?

Yeah, some people will do anything to defend their point, even if the excuse behind it is a flimsy one (no offense intended, of course). Many people, including myself, do not like having to be forced to join the Companions just to become a werewolf.

There might be a side quest for werewolves maybe they pulled something from underworld like they are guard dogs and you have the choice to free them. Maybe a character on the dawnguard side is a werewolf who can be a follower. Most likely the werewolf perk tree is to balance it out because would complain if there wasnt. My charcter is a werewolf so I'll join the dawnguard first then with my other character will be on the vampire side to become a vampire lord.

I just finished watching through the E3 videos and the werewolves aren't really related to the dawnguard at all. The perk tree is being put in so that werewolves are more playable for higher levels.

I think the perk tree was just added so they would have a fighting chance against the Vampire Lords, and so they would be useful to high level characters who enjoy them.

Agreed - you shouldn't be forced to join a faction for something like that unless it's one specifically for werewolves. Merging that with the warrior's faction was just... ugg.
