I originally planned to get it from GameStop, but then they weren't taking pre-orders for the CE anymore. I then saw that on Best Buy I could get the coasters plus the pretty cool(IMO) Mercenary Pack. However, the day after I got the money to buy a gift card so I could get it online, Best Buy decides to remove pre-orders for the CE. So, in the end, I pre-ordered the CE off GameStop's site, so I'm getting the Classic Pack.

I'm not a big fan of it though. I mean, yeah, the simpaks are nice and everything, and I get a Vault 13 suit as a homage to the Vault Dweller and Chosen One, but I think it just won't feel right considering the Courier is more than likely not related to them. Of course, Vault 13 suit doesn't automatically mean that it belonged to the Vault Dweller/Chosen One, but to me it will feel like it. Of course, I could role play as the Chosen One's descendant, but I don't think I really want to.

The bonus I wanted was the Caravan Pack though. They'll most likely be mods for it soon after release though. And I shouldn't fret too much over the bonuses, considering they will last me a couple of hours at most.

Classic. For Nostalgia purposes, plus ill probably be able to get all that other stuff like 5 minutes into the game.

I pre-ordered from Steam, so I get the Caravan Pack... buying from Steam was the easiest way for me to pre-order.
I did not buy the Steam version because of the Caravan Pack... if I got another pack instead I'd still buy the Steam version.

I went with Steam. I even had a post on what others were going to buy to help me make up my mind lol...

No real choice for me I have credit for best buy so the mercenary pack for me. Though I would at some point like to get the caravan and classic pack.

Classic, i wanted the Caravan Pack but Wal-Mart does not offer the CE edition.

All the packs are worthless/pointless... LOL at anybody wanting to horde or get them all. Hell, when I get mine Ill give it away on these forums.

First off the packs are not useless. The clasic packs items are upgraded. Better armour, better pistol, and a cantine so you can store more water. Only disapointment is, what the heck only 5 stimpacks... couldnt we get somthing that might last more then an hour! But these armours do have a point. They are better then most armours you will find in game, and well they look cool and wont be seen anywhere in the wasteland but on you

Nice Canteen that will be useful. Noticed that in FO2 the 'flask' is a V13 canteen, so it might point to them being the actual relics. :shrug:

All the packs look mediocre at best and will be outclassed within a few hours of game play. Frankly Im glad the packs aren't very good, it shows that Obsidian/Bethesda didn't want to put a bunch of good unique stuff in them that would exclude everyone from getting them all. Are there unique stuff in these packs? Sure, but I promise that there will be uniques of these weapons in game as well.

True the main thing i wanted was the cantine. Cause im only gonna play on hardcoe and i want all my survival gear... just hope i can buy binoculars cause i also want those. But the armour i dont care about i just want the bonus items

Intact Garden Gnoe said you can find a pair of binoculars in Primm, not the specifics but its a nice place to start looking, wether its laying about or in a trade menu is not known.

You can get Binocs in Primm, one of the first towns you come to. I guarantee all of the pre order stuff will be obtainable within an hour of the game.

except for the v13 amoured jumpsuit

Am I correct in saying that the items in the pre-order packs you can come across in the game sooner or later?

I’m getting the classic pack from GAME as I have about ￡60 on my reward card so it will be CE edition as i was the first person to pre-oder the game at GAME

no they are unique you may find lesser or better versions but they are unique and will help you get past the first few hours of game play before you find a better version

O good, if i cant find it im sure that a few days after release someone will have a video of were there located. I want the binoculars to scout, get on a high cliff take the binoculars out and SEARCH for food! Im doing hardcoe my first time around. That will probably last me till christmas when i can get more games. But fallout new vegas will last me a long time. hardcoe FTW
