Can I choose outside of Skyrim? Because in that case probably the Morag Tong. You're pretty much allowed to kill legally, get paid a lot and unless you're stupid enough to keep asking for jobs you can be pretty safe. If I'm stuck in Skyrim then definitely the Thieves Guild, they seem to have the lowest casualty rate.

Of course you can choose any place in tamriel. I would have to choose the fighter's guild just because of all the weapons and training you can get.

I would join the Union of Farmers and Minors. "For a Better Wage!"

You guys will understand once Tamriel hits the Industrial Revolution.

No Tamriel is a medievel type fantasy game so there would be no industrial revolution.

Look how Fable's I.R. turned out... Not that TES would ever turn out that way should they try it... *knocks on wood*

If tamriel did have a industrial revolution and thats not possible, then it would just be fallout and there would be no point in have a elder scrolls game.

Companions.

I favor honor over the tricks of magic and wouldn't live with myself stealing everything I needed everyday.

It wouldn't be Fallout. They key thing Tamriel is missing to be Fallout isn't a revolution, but a war to supposedly end all wars.

I would say if it is a guild from Skyrim, I would say the Companions since I don't have to worry about being betrayed, and I can become a werewolf. If we include Cyrodiil's guilds then I would go with the Thieves Guild.

Well, the Industrial Revolution is pre modern, or the beginning of the modern era. Depending on how you want to look at it.
And Fallout is...post modern/apocalyptic.

Pre Modern had functioning society and culture
Post Apocalyptic does not

Pre Modern used cavalry and swords as well as firearms
Pos Modern...well it's post modern

Also why would they not have an Industrial Revolution? Somehow they figured out how to make steel weapons and armor, before that they probably used bronze.
As we know from Dawngard they figured out how to make crossbows.

I'm sure some technically savvy researchers explore Dwemer ruins looking at their technology and how to replicate it.

Magic > Technology, in practicality. Morrowind already had crossbows.
Plus, (not @ you^) Bethesda has both Fallout and TES. Why would they make it so they have a hybrid?

I'm speculating here.
I don't think Bethesda would do what I'm suggesting, but in theory technology builds on its self, making an Industrial Revolution inevitable, even with magic.
BTW I would love it if TES did take this route, but that's just me.

An alchemist figured out how to make gunpowder, cool. Then a really smart blacksmith says, hey, what if we used this to shoot giant metal balls at people. BOOM! there you have it, canons! You see where I'm taking this.

The mages guilds always seemed a bit too elitist for me. Skyrims companions seem like thugs to me. Criminals are not an option.

The cartographers guild. Didn't they do the maps you got with Skyrim and Oblivion? And I guess in this guild, I would be able to stay alive for more than two weeks.
