What fans asked for in NV

Post » Tue May 10, 2011 4:36 pm

Asked for a better story and more cowbell.

1 out of 2 ain't bad

What? No Skooma? Going clean again?

I wanted more weapons, harder enemies, a better story, more choice in my path through the game, more character specialization (no maxing out all my skills), and maybe a couple strippers.

I got everything but strippers. Instead I got hokers...

Let me be more clear. More T-51b not the broken "Indestructible" kind in FO3.

The http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/T-51b_Power_Armor_(Fallout_3) found in http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fort_Constantine wasn't the "broken 'Indestructible' kind".

Didn't think I'd have to ask them NOT to repeat the original FO3 ending foul-up, cest la vie.

People complained about FO3s ending because quite frankly, it stinked. FNVs ending is MUCH better, so people arn't complaining as much.

And yes, I was looking for an adoring fan esque character. You see, I lost the Adoring Fan in Oblivion and I have no idea where he is. That makes me sad because I loved throwing him off Dive Rock. :sadvaultboy:

I wanted to marvel at the shattered shell of the city of Las Vegas. I didn't really get my wish.

Still, I bet the people who's #1 wish was to be able to make their own ammo were happy!

It was brokem because it had no Damage threshold.

The map is smaller and that pissed me off a lot,
plus there's a third of the [censored] map you cannot even go to,
It's [censored] [censored] if you ask me.

The map is actually bigge.r There's just not a random spot every 10 paces. In real life, you don't see a cave every 10 feet, why should you in-game?

I asked for grave robbing, I really enjoy it. Just wish there were more interesting things to find. There is one grave with some goodies. I also enjoy how the graves have the names of who is there like FO2. I still want a reputation/perk for it. Digging up a grave when someone is around you get a bad rep.

"Lassie" a collie dog comes to you and wants you to get Timmy out of a well! "bark, bark!" you just know what he is saying from the barking." Next to the well is some rope like from fallout 1 and 2. Lassie wants you to use it on the well. you climb down the well. At the bottom is a small skeleton (Timmy) with a teddy bear next to it. You come back out of the well and there is a dog skeleton next to the well with rusted dog tags on it.

you can't leave the area without first helping "Lassie" save Timmy first.

Idea 4.

Wild Wasteland encounter What Is It, Boy? not quite the same but close.

The Dog from TV that saved Timmy? Was Lassie. Dog in New Vegas is Rex.

I asked for better writing and reactivity and I got much better writing and reactivity. Couldn't be much more pleased.

I asked for much bigger effects from skills and stats and I got slightly bigger emphasis on them... Could've been better, surely.

I asked for higher overall difficulty (or, a more effective difficultyslider), and the game was still a cakewalk. Could've been much better.

Overall, while improved, the gameplay could've been much better, but the writing side compensates nicely (though not all the way).

I thought it would have been awesome if they had let you play as a ghoul or a super mutant character with their own distinct advantages/disadvantages, maybe we will see this in FO4.
