What happened to the main lands?

Perhaps the sequel will be like a naval version of the book "Mortal Engines," where floating cities travel a post-apocalyptic ocean-world consuming each other for resources.

Its a island made for experiments, the world didn't go any where. You test subjects are just ignorant to the fact.

in RL and the doors 2 said underground base are air tight with a green room so 2 speak on the inside as well as food and water enough provisions too last a long time including oxygen food water and no i kid you not there are procedures for "occupants shortage" my great uncle was CIA so...

p.s. thanks ppls for keeping the spirit of the poll and i just wanted 2 be clear im not yelling or anything i'm just explaining why i made this topic even though the Devs said it's flooded.

Oh well Brink is a work of fiction. they'll probably ignore that base thing.

They said it allright. There's been no contact for over 20 years. Open any interview with Paul Wedgewood and he says it.

Thank you.

My conjecture is that at first, due to the flood, all coastal regions had to be dealt with. Now, knowing that over 70% of the world would have been water, shorelines would have been decimated. This means that coastal regions would probably be the main focus of the whole world. Island-states would be absolutely devastated, such as Japan and the Philippines, as would Austrailia, the UK, and the like, as well as (obviously) every coastal town, village, city, or metropolis near the Oceans of the world. There are far too many to name, and I wouldn't know them all.

Because of this focus, the Ark would have mainly been forgotten about in favor for rebuilding / reclaiming / scavenging what's left of the coastal areas. Granted, a few people may remember, but that's why there are only 50 thousand people on the Ark, instead of much more. An event of global catastrophe such as this has the possibility of holding the Earth's attention for many years. There are plenty major establishments on the coasts to go around for everyone.

Sounds abit like fallout, valuts built to save people from nuclear war but secretly most of them are made to do social expermints, such as 1 man and 500 woman, air filled with psychotic drugs, planning the vault to be closed forever and see how they handle life. But i doubt that the ark was ment for this, well, besides the experiments they were doing there (secret weapons, new technology, etc.)

Nah, I'm not sure they'd build a multi billion dollar floating city just to see how a group of people would do while locked in with an angry panther. I think the Ark is much more serious business than the Vaults.

With the poles melted, I think there's also a shift in climate. I have some interesting theories (like people who we're able to flee to space), more arks, people high in the mountains, some kind of rapture (Underwater city), ...

BRINK-o-shock?

There was this HUGE explosion! No wait, thats the scientific big bang theory........

According to this theory, the Universe will end with the Big Crunch, by the way.

If that was true, someone would have pulled the plug on the project because of the civil war.

So he said to the world "Flood, will ya?" And so it did. The holy land of Texas was the only place the Norris spared, and all the places that defied the flood were cursed upon with civil war. And so it was.

According to the dev's, the rest (or most of the rest) of the world was displaced, as in flooded, and I'm sure more people survived, but they can't get to the ark because it was towed out to sea and barely anyone knows where it is.
And what do you mean by the planet flooded for 20 years straight? Once it's flooded, it's flooded. Some places are now permanently under water. The geography of Earth was changed forever in the flood.

Ice takes up more space than water and a lot of the ice at the poles is underwater so if the poles melted the water levels wouldn't increase enough for continents to flood!

Not whole continents. But there is quite a big pile of ice floating around the north pole.

Well if the world was being heated by pollution like they say it is in the game, then no, it would be a permanent, irreversible change.

In a private conversation I had with him, Paul Wedgwood confirmed that Brink takes place in the Waterworld universe.

And in the last chapter you find out that the leader of the Ark is Moses and it's actually the distant past, not the near future. The Ark is also Atlantis. The End.

*spoilers above*
