Are you asking what happened causing the ARK to be fileld with refugees or what happened AFTER the ARK fot filled. b4: it was said the ice caps melted causign a global flood After: Well it has been said that they tried to establish radio contact for a long period of time before they quit. Now the Resistance doesnt believe that so their trying to "FREE" teh ARK

the planET (singular) flooded for a long time, their are no life boats because it was used as a resort and a floating island to really if their was a problem they would call in for AIR EVAC but remember the ARK is floating and i has been said it can move under its own power. so they could be all the way out in the Pacific (west coast of america= san francisco)

According to the dev's, the rest (or most of the rest) of the world was displaced, as in flooded, and I'm sure more people survived, but they can't get to the ark because it was towed out to sea and barely anyone knows where it is.
And what do you mean by the planet flooded for 20 years straight? Once it's flooded, it's flooded. Some places are now permanently under water. The geography of Earth was changed forever in the flood.

so no coms no underground bases nothing? I know at least the pres has a unique underground super fallout shelter that would support him for like 100 years or some such with full communication including high powered radio's, computers, phone lines...

Where did you hear that? Is this in Brink world or real world? I wouldn't want to be underground anywhere when the surface has been flooded, there's be no chance of ever getting out.
And the Brink devs did say that the Ark totally lost contact with the rest of the world.

If you listen to the Resistance, they'd tell you that the Security isn't trying to make contact with the outside world, and that there are probably survivors. But what do they know, they're just a bunch of uneducated grease monkeys trying to blow up the Ark :P

But for the sake of the poll, I'm going to say a combination of war/famine/plagues. That would leave SOME survivors, but not enough to make radio contact

With the poles melted, I think there's also a shift in climate. I have some interesting theories (like people who we're able to flee to space), more arks, people high in the mountains, some kind of rapture (Underwater city), ...

in RL and the doors 2 said underground base are air tight with a green room so 2 speak on the inside as well as food and water enough provisions too last a long time including oxygen food water and no i kid you not there are procedures for "occupants shortage" my great uncle was CIA so...

p.s. thanks ppls for keeping the spirit of the poll and i just wanted 2 be clear im not yelling or anything i'm just explaining why i made this topic even though the Devs said it's flooded.

They said it allright. There's been no contact for over 20 years. Open any interview with Paul Wedgewood and he says it.

I'd like to think it's a mixture of the earth being near-completely flooded, and whoever's running the ark is reluctant to make contact. I mean, the Ark's pretty damn full as it is, the last thing they'd want is MORE survivors. Which could be viewed as logical or sick... god I love a game with a decent story.

Could you really last in an underground chamber for 20 years?

It's a surprise the Ark has managed to stay fine for that period of time.

I think they rather find land WITH people on it, to disembark and establish a new society or, to do maintenance works on the ark and rebuild the world with the Ark's facilities. (This is ofcourse AFTER the whole storyline of Brink.)

That's from a Security standpoint though correct? I believe the Resistance thinks that the Ark has been making contact with the outside world, unless my memory is wrong

I always heard that there's been no contact for over 20 years. That's what both the Resistance and Security think. It's unclear if the founders know more than they're saying. The Resistance assumes that the Security knows more iirc.

Ah, that's what it was. Thanks, I thought the developers were trying to play it both ways, that the Resistance thinks that the Security are secretly getting supplies, and are just covering up where as the Security is trying to maintain order while they wait for someone to make contact

True, true. But who's to say they'll find what they need if they come ashore? I'm willing to bet that any land left un-flooded would be reasonably alpine, and probably devoid of any useful resources or structures.

Evidently the world seas rose, but I assume the various navy's of different countries would have the means to survive.
