What kind of house would you build ?

A cabin on the ice, as far away as possible from human contact, where i would live as a fur clad hermit and make scientific studies of the Horkers and their behavior.

Something large on the lake in the Rift near Riften. I love that lake. I'd like the house (multi storied with a basemant) to be built from stone. I'd also need a nice dock over the water. Maybe something like Honeyside has, but a bit larger. Other than the usual stuff (enchanter's table, alchemy lab, and even my own forge) I'd like a boat that I can use and, most importantly, a trebuchet to launch myself into the lake. That would be awesome.

There are actually several areas that I would like to take small things from and bring them together in the home. A little taste of all of Skyrim in one spot. I'd also really like to be able to keep a sabre cat skin to use as a rug. Bears would work as well.

Oh, and a brewery, nice garden/farm and a stable. If the place could be built and sustained on a large enough scale, I'd be up for having others move to the area. Other farmers or merchants....maybe even a little pub for the locals. I guess since my character is married, a brothel would be out.

huge dwemer fortress with cannons, and the ability to summon dwemer robotic defenders that you can summon out of tubes using a dwemer staff and a point buy system like in operation anchorage.
beneath the fortress is a huge dwemer city populated by dark elves and orcs that are shunned from the rest of skyrim and beneath that are the subterranian mines in which a never ending fight between the dwemer automatons and falmer rages.

it would be little more then a glorified yurt but it would have a place for me to display some choice items mainly of dwemer origin and a bed and possibly an alchemy and enchanters table and a forge its no blue palace but it would be mine. would possibly build it near the Mzulft Aedrome.

A large and elaborate estate near a cliff in a snowy part of Skyrim. A part where it snows so much that you cannot see the home until you are within 60 feet or so.
It would be a stone home with 3 floors and multiple fireplaces. A stone wall about 3 feet tall surrounding the entrance and even a stable with doors to open so the horses are safe from the cold. Inside it would have at least 6 guards in Ebony armor and 2 maids paid handsomely. A bedroom with excellent beds for my guards and maids. Solitude angered me because I had an expensive lush desirable home and my housecarl was given a cheap cot. An enchantment table, alchemy table, and forge with all improvement machines. Many bookshelves since I love filling them.

A dark tower near the mountains near falkreath , but not on the mountains at the base or foot of them where the forest is . i would place walls around my tower and a thin long bridge connecting to the fortress grounds to the tower door with a mote under the bridge.
it would be more of a citidel kind of thing , where it would go up in stages but eventually there will be a large high tower at the top.

It would be a modest house...or two. One would be in a warmer area near a lake and the other would be on the north shore above Solitude so I could listen to the waves coming to shore. It would have the crafting stations and a nice horse stall and garden with chickens. Inside would be cozy with a fireplace instead of a pit and no animal heads on the walls, just tapestries...also rugs on the floors and lots of light inside for starters. Lots of storage but mostly furniture, not barrels. :tes:

Whatever I decide to build, every room will have the option to display weapons, shields, and armor with no less than 10 slots per room.

I keep many quest weapons as trophies.

I'll also be sure there's a bathroom. I'm pretty sick and tired of using a pot in the open.

Mmm, Roman style baths would be nice.

And lots and lots of storage - where you need it. I like the alchemist's satchel on the Alchemy table in Breezehome. Why couldn't Honeyside have this???

I would build, for the main house of my Nord:
Either in the forests of Falkreath or the plains of Whiterun. It would be a manor, walled and fortified to protect against threats. It would have a small area for farming, with stables and pens for her horses and livestock. In a secluded area would be an archery range.
The house would stand two storeys tall, but have a much taller tower from which to see the surrounding area.
On the first floor would be an alchemy lab and crafting study, with about five chests each for ingredients, components etc to be sorted. Next to that would be a kitchen with a wealth of ingredients to make food (Elsweyr Fondue!). Across from that would be a massive library, with enough room for two-hundred books to display on shelves, and then a few chests for notes etc.
Near to that would be the sparring ring, where Dovahkiin and her friends/companions/husband could train and generally fool about.
I imagine that this manor and its surrounds would appear much like the architecture of Whiterun, which I find absolutely gorgeous.

Upstairs would be the bedroom with plenty of storage, and next to that rooms for storing weapons (walls lined with display cases and racks), armour (6 mannequins) and other items such as Daedric artifacts. There would be windows and balconies, and access to the roof. There would even be a castle-town with a small population of merchants, whose businesses thrive thanks to all Dovahkiin's loot and tendancy to buy all the ingredients from a vendor in one go.
This building would be similar in design to Candle-Hearth Hall.

For my second character, a Dunmer, pure-mage vampire:
He would have a stone hovel near either near Riften, his favourite feeding grounds, or a bandit lair that respawns reguarly, providing food. It would have an underground level with all his required facilities, and would provide a safe haven should he find himself blood-starved and in plain view.

I already got mine. I downloaded the Black Tower/Black Sacrament mod and it's awesome. I actually only wanted the armor but the apartment in the tower was a bonus.
