What New Improvements will Regular Vampire's have?

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 4:38 pm

What i meant  When you are in your "normal" form,Will you look different?,Like having glowing eyes like Harkon
I imagine that you will also have glowing eyes like Harkon in your normal form, and that some of the races like the Argonians and Khajiit will have their own unique sets of vampire lord eyes.

Accepted. As I've said before, vampire NPC's don't always have noticeable fangs, so I don't know if we can really draw any conclusions. Wonder if Pete Hines might have an answer?
Hern had noticeable fangs.
You know... to be quite honest I don't think that the vanilla Vampires are going to have any improvements. But I guess we'll have to wait and see since no one at Bethesda has said anything beyond upgrading to Vampire Lord.
Matt Carafano said otherwise. Or was it Todd?

Well thats true except for the fact they have said regular vampires will receive and overhaul.

I think they said that you would be no longer attacked at stage 4, but only in Vampire Lord form. Not 100% sure though.
sounds more like someone writing their wishes...stage 4 is pretty much a beast form which makes everyone hostile so i doubt they will rewrite that.

It was in a gameinformer article. Vampire Lords are no longer recognized as vampires except in Lord form.

06:50 "Additionally, all of the vampires we have in the game we went back and added a new look to them, new abilities, we mixed in some new creatures. So this is an overhaul to vampires in general, even if they aren't on part of the story on Dawnguard."-Matt Carafano.

Damn, new look for vampire? This concerns me! I hope we keep the Sith eyes!

It'd be ironic if the reason the vampire's that are in the forests attack the character is just because their stage four and they think the character is hostile, probably not the reason.

I seem to recall that in stage 4 some NPCs will fear you. I could very well be wrong though or misheard what was said.

I believe that was what it was in oblivion as you could go near people at stage 4 but they would freak out and say if i recall this right "AGGH Stay away!" and such & such it was more comical back then.

Considering Vampire Lords can hover jumping from high distances won't be a problem.....time to have fun jumping off the Throat of The World!

From the trailer we can see you grabbing a merchant and biting the neck so I'm guessing a mechanic to feed on non-sleeping enemies. What I'd hope to see is feeding to maintain your powers rather then disguise your form.(we had nine clans in daggerfall that could walk about town at night). So the new vampire outside of Lord form would work like this.

Stage One: Feed in past 24 hours
? You have a 100% Resistance to Frost.
? You have a 100% Weakness to Fire.
? While outside during daylight, Health, Magicka, and Stamina have an automatic -60 to their total.
Stage Two: 24 Hours without blood
? You have a 75% Resistance to Frost.
? You have a 75% Weakness to Fire.
? While outside during daylight, Health, Magicka, and Stamina have an automatic -45 to their total.
Stage Three: 48 Hours without blood
? You have 50% Resistance to Frost.
? You have a 50% Weakness to Fire.
? While outside during daylight, Health, Magicka, and Stamina have an automatic -30 to their total.
Stage Four: 72 hours without blood
? You have a 25% Resistance to Frost.
? You have a 25% Weakness to Fire.
? While outside during daylight, Health, Magicka, and Stamina have an automatic -15 to their total.

You have to feed regularly to maintain your powers, the longer you go without blood the weaker your abilities become and the greater your weaknesses, but as a trade off your weakness are also less pronounced when your vampiric powers are weaker. In essence you reverse the stages you begin at stage four.
One could also reverse the weaknesses but that feels like a little much.
I agree with you.

I hope this is true! My characters were always Cyrodiilic in my game :P

I hope they don't touch the eyes at all. The eyes on "http://static.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/images/112-1-1321176480.jpg" are the actual ingame eyes. I like it that way. It would be good to see the character's appearance change throughout the stages from normal color to a sickly pale like in Oblivion, but without the wrinkles. Afterall, it makes no sense that you are "blood-starved" and look exactly the same as you did in the first stages.
