How do you make them stay? sometimes they do for me but most of the time things i leave in my house end up on the floor somehow. (damn housecarls are useless)

They're having huge parties when we're on missions.

I'm just wondering what do people do in skyrim for fun? Are there any sports? Most fun people have is getting drunk
It depends on character. Eating, drinking and sleeping are what I do with all of them but other things are specified. My assasin Altmer (ME!) enjoyed too much to cut throats of guards so I decided not to play with another assasin for a long time.

They fall, sooner or later. Finally I gave up ... now I put a lot of stuff directly on the floor.
Almost every surface in the houses is glitched, only weapon/shield plaques and racks and mannequins are safe. Some weapons (the Ebony Blade for example) fall down even from racks and plaques.

I sit and fish all day and talk to my wife.

What good is fish if you have to eat them alone?

A true nord would reply: "What's a milk drinker like you doing out here? Go home to your mother!"

And I would say: "You wanna mess with a Lizard who is the Dragonborn, Listener of the DBH, Leader of the Companions, and Arch-Mage of the College of Winterhold?"

Hmmm, well if your talking about the NPCs in Skyrim, I would assume they don't do much except go about their daily lives and have a drink at the inn near the end of the day because that might be all they can manage. But for your character specifically, you can do all sorts of fun things, like the next time a dragon attacks a town for the billionth time just see if the guards can take care of it. And like someone suggested earlier, try and see how many town guards you can assassinate before being caught.

You can also try to see how many town Guards you can kill as a Werewolf while playing on Master. That is a good challenge.

I stuff my face full of food and drink at the taverns while listening to the Bards maniacally sing their tales of heroism and madness til i stumbly stumble to my rented room and pass out for the night into dreams of Skyrim lasses with big...
